Han Bertrand, LICSW
High-functioning depression and trauma often show up as anxiety and a constant effort to avoid difficult feelings or to fill a sense of emptiness. When these attempts to hold it together are met with understanding rather than pressure to be fixed, healing and change can begin to unfold. There are many ways to cope with distress and manage emotions and relationship challenges, but to truly come to terms with experiences that once evoked shame, guilt, anger, fear, a deep sense of aloneness, or the pain of being othered or dismissed, there needs to be a safe space to talk and process what has been carried internally for far too long.
Therapy can help you become more attuned to your needs and to what is emerging in your current life. We will approach your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with openness and compassion, at your own pace. With personalized guidance and empathic support, what once felt overwhelming can gradually become integrated and less defining of your present life.
If you’re curious about what it might be like to work with me, you’re welcome to reach out to schedule a Zoom consultation. This gives us a chance to talk, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. I believe a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship is essential for meaningful therapy, and I look forward to connecting.
