I specialize in working with queer and neurodivergent clients, including those with no formal diagnosis, particularly autistic people, individuals with ADHD, and couples with mixed neurotypes. I am interested in exploring embodiment, somatic interventions, expressive arts, and pleasure activism with clients. I work with a variety of needs, such as navigating non-traditional relationship structures, anxiety, depression, self-actualization, low desire, identity development, and dysphoria, and the way grief can interplay with these needs. I facilitate these explorations through a humanistic, feminist, and systems-oriented lens. My area of focus is trauma-informed sex therapy. I hope to support clients as they defang shame and center joy and pleasure in their lives. I have four years of experience working with survivors of sexual trauma and a lifetime of working with queer people; in addition, I am kink-aware, polyamory-positive and -informed, pro-sex work, and organizer-friendly.

Beginning the process of therapy is a powerful step into understanding and developing the best self. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy. People are influenced by a variety of factors that influence their personal values and behaviors. It is incredibly important for me to honor a person where they are at. I collaborate with clients to work towards goals that are meaningful for them. I draw from a variety of frameworks and therapeutic treatment modalities. Traditional Cognitive Behavior Therapy is empirically sound and an effective theoretical approach I utilize. I also draw techniques from DBT, Person Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. I am EMDR trained and utilize this modality for those clients who have experienced acute and complex trauma. EMDR is also indicated for clients who have tried traditional therapy and feel "stuck". EMDR can help shift change as clients sort through negative memories tied to negative self beliefs. I have had the privilege of working with a variety of concerns. Many of my clients have struggled with adjustment, relationship issues, trauma, depression and anxiety.

I collaborate with you to assist you in achieving your personal, therapeutic goals. Along the way, I focus on supporting you on your life journey from a strengths-based perspective. In order to change, you need to acknowledge what you do well, which we can discover together. It is important to notice the positive aspects of life while also addressing the things you wish to change. In my practice, I use evidence-based interventions (CBT, IFS-informed and expressive arts) and trauma-informed mindfulness practices. I have a background in psycho-education (to offer understanding of why we do what we do and skills for meaningful change), somatic (body) awareness, and a certification in spirituality integrated psychotherapy, which I draw on to assist you in living congruently and authentically in the life you are called to live.

At Misfit Minds, we work best with students who feel a little overwhelmed by life—even if they’re doing “fine” on the outside. Many of the students we support are carrying anxiety, stress, trauma, or complicated relationship experiences that make it hard to focus, rest, or feel like themselves. Our clients often say things like: “I’m exhausted and always on edge.” “My brain won’t shut off.” “I’ve been through a lot, and it still affects me.” “I don’t feel understood in other spaces.” We’re a good fit for students who want therapy that feels real, supportive, and non-judgmental, not stiff or overly clinical. We especially connect with students navigating anxiety, identity questions, difficult family or relationship dynamics, past emotional harm, or feeling out of place. You don’t need to have everything figured out—or even know exactly what’s wrong—to start. If you want a space where you can be honest, go at your own pace, and be met with compassion, Misfit Minds may be a good fit for you.

I have been in practice for over 20 years and enjoy working with graduate and undergraduate students. Children and young adults have such unique issues to navigate in today’s world. As a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, I want to create a space for children and young adults to process where they are no matter what that looks like. As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients that struggle with anxiety, depression, life changes and adjustment to different phases and stages of life. Young people are constantly growing and changing. I work with clients to process their growing pains through self-expression. As a former school counselor, I have a heart for helping young people overcome challenges and realize their strengths. Expressive arts and creativity are often at the core of our sessions. Whether that is writing, drawing, or other forms of art, we can use those skills to help you process and externalize even the most challenging emotions. My biggest goal is for you to be able to utilize your passions in the healing process. Ultimately, therapy is a brave space where I guide you in taking ownership of your story and experiences. It would be an honor to start that journey with you! When I am not with clients, I spend my time supporting my alma mater, the University of Georgia! Go dawgs!! I am currently under the supervision of Catherine Baxter, CPCS 2069.

My practice is designed for students who want a grounded, compassionate place to sort through the noise and reconnect with themselves. I understand how isolating it can feel to struggle silently while still trying to show up for school, deadlines, and the people who depend on you. Therapy with me is collaborative, warm, and practical. Together, we explore what’s weighing on you, build coping skills that actually fit your life, and create room for confidence, clarity, and emotional steadiness. Whether you’re adjusting to a new environment, managing academic stress, healing from past experiences, or simply trying to understand yourself better, you deserve support that honors your story and meets you where you are. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward with resilience and self‑trust.
