Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
I believe that healing begins the moment you feel heard and understood. However, we live in a world where finding someone who can actively listen and attend to our true emotions and thoughts non-judgmentally is hard to come by. I use my authenticity, empathy, and sense of humor in therapy to provide a safe space where you can get to the root of the challenges you may be experiencing. However, I also believe it’s important to provide you with coping skills to equip you in becoming more independent in managing strong emotions on your own. I have training in trauma focused therapies such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Attachment, Regulation, Competency (ARC), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) quite often to assist in identifying negative beliefs about yourself and the world that are driving the symptoms and behaviors that might bring you to therapy. One of my favorite parts of therapy is when I can assist someone in developing self-compassion and uncovering their inner strengths and potential. I also utilize creative interventions when appropriate through art, sand tray, and music. I have experience in a variety of settings such as employee assistance programs working with clients of all ages and high school-based counseling. I work under the clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT and the supervision of Laura Knox Furfari, LMFT. I encourage you to contact me with any questions, and I look forward to connecting with you.
I was a high school teacher and coach for 14 years before becoming a counselor so I work well with students and young people. Many feel pressure to make their time at college "the best time of their lives" but the reality is many find this time of transition difficult and frustrating. Asking for help during difficult moments shows strength and maturity. You don't need to handle these things on your own. We can partner together to find solutions to situations and circumstances that feel overwhelming or confusing. Give me a call and we'll get started.
Welcome to my page! If you have found yourself here, you may be finding the adjustment to college a little tougher than expected, feeling stressed out or anxious, or maybe just a little blue. Your college years are very formative years of your life, but they can also bring unique challenges. I truly enjoy walking this path alongside students, and provide a safe and nurturing space for young adults to go from surviving to thriving.

You ever wondered if there was a therapist out there who truly gets you? Who could relate and understand your experiences being different than the normative society? Well look no further! I work with clients navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and relational struggles. I have a special passion for supporting geeks, gamers, creatives, alternative individuals, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ clients who often feel like they don’t quite fit the mold. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with elements of geek therapy. My clients often come to me struggling with perfectionism, boundary setting, self-esteem, identity, or body image issues, feeling stuck or overwhelmed in a world that doesn’t always make space for who they are. In our work together, we’ll create that space—judgment-free, collaborative, and affirming. Whether you’re battling your inner critic, processing trauma, or just trying to survive in a neurotypical or cis-normative world, I’m here to support your growth, healing, and self-discovery. Therapy doesn’t have to be sterile or detached—we can bring your fandoms, creativity, and passions into the room as tools for healing.

Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist in Midtown Atlanta. I enjoy helping with anxiety concerns, men's issues/masculinity, relationship and social concerns, and depression, as well as a number of other concerns. I also have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate college students. I integrate different approaches, but work mainly using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and relational/interpersonal techniques. Additionally, I specialize in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches and the use of mindfulness meditation. I work actively to help my clients open up to their thoughts and emotions while also helping identify changes they can make to live life more effectively. I am patient, relatable, and flexible in my work, and you'll find that I am a humorous and light-hearted person, too. I also aim to be direct and authentic, giving helpful feedback when appropriate. "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change," Max Planck. If you're looking for a therapist, you're looking for a change. As a counselor, my role is to help you see what may be hidden from your current perspective—recognizing patterns in your thinking, addressing the pain from past experiences, and identifying opportunities for strength, resilience, and change. I work with children, youth adults and couples. Before pursuing my degree in counseling I worked as a career and college advisor. I speak Spanish and am happy to serve the Latinx and Hispanic community.
