Everyone can benefit from therapy regardless of how big or small a problem feels: both sprained and broken ankles can benefit from crutches! Whether you have faced a life-altering event, or have worries about the future, I will guide and support you along the journey. Taking the first steps to begin therapy can be intimidating, but is an important move to make to become your best self. My approach balances the emotional processing necessary to generate insights with the practical components of skill building to truly give you all the benefits therapy can provide. I use a flexible integrative model to generate individualized treatment since no two people or problems are the same. I believe therapy is most effective when we collaborate to improve your quality of life. I'm excited to begin the process of achieving your personal goals! Currently supervised by Tara Towler-Cumby, MA, LPC, CPCS.

Hi there! My name is Julia, and am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Georgia. I am passionate about walking alongside young adults and college students navigating challenges related to anxiety, emotional regulation, effects of trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I also have expertise in supporting women in the pre- and postpartum period. I am dedicated to creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which clients feel comfortable to be their most true selves, explore their values and strengths, and connect with their inherent worth. I use a trauma-informed, relational approach to therapy that combines a thoughtful blend of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices to help clients connect with the present moment. I bring a warm, grounding, and compassionate energy to therapy, offering a space that is nonjudgmental and connected. I love supporting clients in better understanding their emotional worlds, developing practical tools for self-regulation, building secure relationships, and reconnecting with their sense of self. I provide individual therapy to young adults and adults experiencing a range of concerns including substance use, trauma, life transitions, and the unique stressors men face. I approach counseling from the perspective that you already have strengths and abilities that you can use to become your strongest self. Together, we find those strengths and put them to work towards your goals. As part of this I often use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, a technique that looks at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It’s been shown to be incredibly effective at helping people make lasting changes in their lives. I am a Master Addiction Counselor and trained in E.M.D.R., a technique shown to be effective in treating trauma. It is also common that you may not have your finger on exactly what you hope to work on, yet you know you are seeking growth and change. If that’s the case, therapy can be a powerful tool to help you clarify what you want and how to best get it. If you are interested in learning more about how working together can help you reach your goals, contact me for a free consultation. Consultations are done by phone, take about 15 minutes and give us a chance to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

I am a therapist who integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques and systems theories into my clinical treatment of children, adolescents, and college students. Because I greatly value interdisciplinary work, I strive for successful collaboration with social workers, physicians, and educators in the provision of holistic behavioral healthcare for my clients. I have additional specialized training in trauma & behavioral sleep medicine. Being nationally certified in TF-CBT, I work with victims of childhood abuse, providing evidence-based treatment to promote healing & recovery. In my behavioral sleep medicine work I provide interventions to reduce sleep disturbances & improve daytime functioning for my clients. Further, in my work with college students I provide cognitive-behavioral interventions to address mood and anxiety symptoms, improve academic functioning, and enhance coping skills. I often operate from a feministic perspective, with the goals of empowerment, increasing self-esteem, and healthy boundary development.

I am a trauma-informed provider who specializes in supporting individuals and couples navigating conflict, depression, anxiety, infertility, chronic illness, grief/loss, trauma and transition. One of the bravest things we can do is begin to understand our own stories. Clients I support often grapple with the impact of narratives about who they were, are, or "should be", leaving them questioning, "Do I matter?" or shedding pieces of their identity to generate a sense of belonging. Together, we can explore societal and relational influences on your story, while identifying your values, strengths, options for healing and growth. I believe every client holds expertise in their own experiences and deserves the right to make decisions honoring personal journeys and values. My approach incorporates relational-cultural, feminist, and interpersonal lenses. I utilize the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, IFS, and MSC strategies, also drawing from 12+ years of experience as a parent and educator. Everyone deserves to experience validation, compassion, and belonging. I am committed to facilitating a space in which you feel understood, valued, and supported as we prioritize your goals, explore your story, and incorporate strategies for reintegrating pieces of your Self so you also can experience increased personal acceptance and relational connection.

We are Living Fully Psychological Services, but affectionately call ourselves Living Fully Therapy. Dr. Pegah Moghaddam is the owner and founder of Living Fully. We provide therapy online and in-person at an office located in Atlanta, Georgia, within walking distance of Emory University. Our psychologists and therapists specialize in therapy for trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and sleep. With life experience comes pain, loss, and suffering. Healing, growth, and change are a result of processing these painful experiences in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. At Living Fully Therapy, we provide unique therapeutic services. Our goal is to learn about and understand your unique history and life path with openness, compassion, acceptance, and patience. We will teach you to do the same for yourself, as these factors are necessary to the process of change and ultimately to live fully. From there, we will determine where you'd like to go and the most effective process to achieving your goals. We are honored to facilitate your journey toward living fully. Please note that we are an out-of-network, non-preferred provider with Aetna student health insurance for Emory students.
