“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!
Women come to me looking for someone who gets it. Are you tired of trying to be perfect but never feeling good enough, constantly seeking approval, or caring too much about what others think? Are you controlling from a place of fear? Is fear itself keeping you from becoming the best version of yourself? I’m here to help you break free from these struggles and step into the life you were created for. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I specialize in helping women uncover what’s holding them back. Through compassionate therapy rooted in proven techniques like CBT, we’ll identify the beliefs and past experiences keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll replace fear and doubt with confidence and clarity, empowering you to move forward boldly. In our first sessions, we’ll explore your story, identifying how past experiences and fears have shaped your current mindset. At your pace, we’ll challenge those patterns and uncover the purpose and identity God designed for you. What makes my practice unique is the flexibility to meet your needs, along with optional membership resources at thehealingculture.org for ongoing support. I’m passionate about this work because I’ve faced similar struggles and know the freedom and transformation that are possible. You don’t have to navigate this alone—let’s take the first step together!
I work collaboratively with clients and their families to support the development of realistic, meaningful goals that align with each client’s lifestyle, while placing strong emphasis on the health and trust of the client–therapist relationship. I bring extensive experience in helping individuals navigate substance abuse and engage in self-discovery. I approach my work with an open-minded, nonjudgmental perspective, incorporating appropriate use of humor to foster a strong therapeutic alliance and bring a sense of ease and balance when navigating life’s challenges.
Life may seem overwhelming, as if you are alone and no one understands you. Maybe you have an issue with someone, but the thought of conflict makes you shut down and avoid the situation. Perhaps you are anxious or consumed with worry or afraid of disappointing others. I have worked with many patients who struggle to stay connected in relationships or effectively communicate with others. You could struggle with anger issues and use anger to defend and protect yourself from being hurt.

A Little About Me I’m Rachel McCrystal, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people—just like you—navigate life’s challenges with care and confidence. Outside of therapy, I’m a mother, a military spouse, and a breast cancer survivor, so I deeply understand what it’s like to feel stretched thin and uncertain about the future. My own experiences have taught me how important it is to have someone in your corner—and that’s exactly what I aim to be for you. This Is Your Time I know it can feel scary to take that first step toward therapy, but I promise, it’s worth it. Welcome. I’m K. Hilary Curtis-Long, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience in trauma informed and systems-oriented care. My work is grounded in the belief that distress is not a personal failing, but a meaningful response to lived experience—often shaped by relational wounds, cultural narratives, and environments that ask too much of the nervous system. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, listen carefully, and make sense of what your symptoms have been trying to communicate. My clinical background includes training in attachment theory, trauma therapy, Jungian and narrative approaches, feminist theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), with a strong emphasis on somatic and mindfulness-based practices. I work with individuals navigating religious trauma, sexuality and identity, attachment wounds, shame, relational harm, and the lingering impacts of early experiences. Many clients come to therapy feeling exhausted by urgency, responsibility, or the pressure to remain functional in systems that feel misaligned with their values. In our work together, we attend to the interconnection between mind, body, and story—exploring how inherited beliefs, early relationships, and social systems have shaped your sense of self, worth, and belonging. Rather than rushing toward solutions, therapy becomes a place to metabolize grief, loosen shame, and reclaim creativity, agency, and meaning at a pace that feels sustainable. Symptoms are approached with curiosity and respect, allowing self- compassion to replace self-blame over time.
We believe that therapy can be FUN and effective without feeling too clinical. We will provide a therapeutic environment that is authentic + real. We meet you where you are at emotionally, then help you move forward.
