College can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. I specialize in working with college and graduate students who are navigating anxiety, academic stress, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and the pressure to “have it all figured out.” Whether you’re adjusting to campus life, managing perfectionism, struggling with motivation, or feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down and make sense of what you’re carrying. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical. You are the common denominator in your life, my aim is to help you navigate and understand the deeper patterns that shape your experience. My role is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move through this time in your life with more clarity and confidence.

Feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you—around relationships, food, or how you cope with feelings—can be exhausting and isolating. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to carry that weight alone. I strive to offer a compassionate, collaborative environment where you can feel understood and empowered to move toward meaningful change. I believe every person holds inherent inner strengths, even when they feel buried beneath pain. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s been shaping your experiences and reconnect with the internal resources that support a more fulfilling, authentic, and liberated life. I work with adults navigating emotional eating and eating disorders, addictions, trauma, relational conflicts, life transitions, challenges related to immigrant experiences, and the exploration of spiritual themes. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based modalities, with Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as core components. My personal journey as a first-generation immigrant informs the way I approach therapy and deepens my respect for the cultural uniqueness of each client.

Welcome! I offer clinical treatment to people experiencing trauma, mood disorders, & issues of identity (race, gender, sexuality, culture). I am South Asian, queer, and genderqueer (they/them). I am also an artist, and happy to incorporate creativity into our work together. No pressure, though! Traumatic experiences have a way of shackling themselves to the body, whether they are accumulated over time or single incidents which compromised our safety. We seek to protect ourselves from a world that has failed to protect us, often coping in ways that hurt in the long run. In our work together we will identify sources of pain, the impact they have on your life, & determine ways to reclaim power so that your body becomes a place of safety rather than a site of trauma. Come as you are. My goal is to be both a gentle witness and an ally, helping you to find & stand in your power, identifying disparities & restoring balance in your life. I believe you are here because you are ready to value & give yourself a chance to shape your future with your own hands. I couldn't be more hopeful for you.

I assist clients in navigating depression, stress, life transitions, relationship distress, trauma and struggles related to their life stage. I can help you gain confidence, develop self-understanding and learn strategies to manage distress. I believe in the importance of creating safe spaces and meaningful relationships for growth. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who trained at George Washington University and at Harvard University. I provide individual therapy for adults as well as couples therapy. I utilize psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspectives in order to best understand my clients. I have worked with clients struggling with various issues such as depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, college/graduate school stress and relationship/family difficulties. I provide an empathetic, supportive, and interactive environment whereby together, the client and I can explore conflicts with the ultimate goal of reducing unpleasant thoughts and/or painful feelings. I view therapy as a process of not only working in the present, but also uncovering the past, allowing for the development of insight and awareness into one's patterns of thought and behavior. I have a particular interest in working with college students, graduate students, law students and attorneys. I am a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, whereby I teach and supervise doctoral students. I am currently only working via telehealth.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Kathleen McGah and I offer a comfortable, confidential space for teens, college-age students and young adults to talk about whatever is on their mind, at one's own pace, and without judgment. When people have a safe place to practice putting thoughts and feelings into words, they find they grow psychologically stronger over time - and more satisfied with various aspects of life. I have worked with many students who, initially, have been hesitant to talk with a professional. (Even if one has had a counseling experience in the past, it can still be difficult to start with a new therapist.) It makes sense if you have some hesitation about taking this step. Only you will know if you are ready. If you have been struggling and think it would be good to meet with a therapist, though, please reach out.
