Welcome! I'm Casey Nordberg, a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) in Brooklyn. I work with individuals of all ages, specializing in trauma, attachment and relationship issues, and life transitions. With a background working with families in child welfare and private practice, I bring a nuanced perspective to the therapeutic space, creating a safe environment for a diverse population of patients to explore the experiences that have shaped who they are today. This person-centered, compassion-driven lens supports those navigating emotional struggles, relationship challenges, and feelings of stagnation. In a fast-moving city that often rewards us for pushing forward at the expense of our well-being, taking the step to seek support shows real bravery, and I don't take that courage and trust lightly. I believe everyone has lived experience worth exploring with care, and I'm honored to help you find insight into your history and clarity on the steps ahead as I get to know you and we start this journey together. I am dedicated to meeting you where you are, centering your experiences as we work together to understand and move through what's difficult. Because life's ruptures most often occur in the context of relationships, I believe that building a healing, reparative relationship is one of the most important parts of therapy. That’s why I lead with empathy and warmth, taking a holistic, culturally humble approach, integrating relational and psychodynamic work with evidence-based strategies like motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness techniques, so that treatment can be tailored to what actually fits your life. In our work together, we'll collaborate to understand and gently challenge the thought patterns and behaviors that keep you feeling stuck, while honoring the role these strategies have played in helping you survive difficult experiences in the past. From there, we'll find the tools and coping skills that feel right for you, working toward clarity, self-compassion, and meaningful, sustainable change. My path to becoming a therapist began with stressful experiences within my own family growing up: illness and loss, family members' mental illness and substance misuse, and the complex relational dynamics that come with intergenerational trauma and colliding cultural norms. This experience shaped my interest in child and family mental health, and my drive to walk alongside people of all ages as they make sense of what they've been through. Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time in nature, exploring parks around the city on walks, going on runs, and picnics. Coming from a family of artists and creatives, I enjoy dancing to live music, visiting art museums, and painting with watercolors. On lower-key days, I adore curling up with a cup of tea, a good book, and my two cats.
Hi, I’m Mirabelle. I bring a warm and patient curiosity to my clients that creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore what has brought you into therapy. Before working in private practice, I was a hospice social worker supporting people facing terminal illnesses and their caregivers. Accompanying people through illness and death has given me a reverence for existential questions and transitions––for what it really means to be alive. I understand therapy as a space to explore these questions. My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, which means we will discover how your early experiences and relationships, as well as your unconscious life, shape your present. We will move at the pace that feels right for you. Together, we will find the words to make meaning out of your experience. Our work will help to reduce the symptoms that are causing you problems as well as deepen your connection to yourself and others. I am guided by anti-oppressive principles. In addition to my work in hospice, I have worked in community based and outpatient mental health settings with queer folks, people with serious mental illness and personality disorders, and complex trauma. I enjoy working with people who have received mental health diagnoses, and themes related to illness and medical trauma.
I work with a variety of people whose active, creative lives have been interrupted by depression, mania, anxiety, mourning, and trauma. Psychotherapy with me is a process of guided expression. Thoughts and feelings, dreams and fantasies, desires and fears are given voice – loud, clear, and without judgment. The experience of formulating authentic verbal and emotional expressions can be transformative in and of itself. Also, as patterns in your way of being become clear, you can begin to consider alternatives, find courage to change, and experience what is commonly known as freedom. I think mental health means developing a Full Self – a progressive version of you that can love hard and work hard, understand complex motivations, and experience feelings, including painful ones, without being overwhelmed. In this process, I draw from extensive, ongoing training in both psychodynamics and cognitive-behavioral work. My training began in 2005 at Bellevue’s Psychiatric Emergency Room and continued at renowned New York City hospitals and institutions. I’ve been in private practice in Brooklyn since 2011. Also, I was an adjunct professor in a clinical Ph.D. program for many years and supervised trainees at two college clinics and psychiatry residents at Mt. Sinai Hospital. My publications are in the areas of loneliness, personality disorders, and art.
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here, ready to embark upon the path toward a better tomorrow. Do you feel stuck or overwhelmed on that path now? Are you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, or major life transitions? You are not alone. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner providing personalized mental health care for adolescents and adults. Together, we work to quiet the noise of these symptoms so you can refocus on what matters most to you. I look forward to helping you feel more empowered and connected to your life as we work toward meaningful and lasting change. My approach is grounded and collaborative, integrating medication management with supportive therapy, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals. I see medication as one of many possible tools that may be valuable for some, but not necessary for everyone. When used mindfully, it can help ease barriers and allow therapy to unfold more fully. No matter the therapeutic approach, I believe you are the expert of your own lived experience; my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion. Whether we are exploring your story through talk therapy, considering medication options, or both, my priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. Drawing on my background in neuroscience and psychology, I am dedicated to caring for the whole person rather than just a diagnosis. This foundation guides my commitment to showing up with a presence that is as evidence-based as it is human. Outside of the office, I find my own balance through reading, skiing, cooking, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
Welcome! I'm Madeleine Conner, a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) with five years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through personal challenges, including life transitions, anxiety, attachment issues, mood disturbances, trauma, and stress. Three of those years have been dedicated specifically to delivering trauma-informed therapy services to early childhood populations. Emotional regulation and psychodynamic therapy are at the center of my work, and I use these approaches to help patients of all ages explore how their experiences shape their emotions, thoughts, and relationships. My commitment is to extend the best care, support, and counseling to each person I have the privilege of working with. Compassion and collaboration are the foundation of everything I do in the therapy room. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, goals, and experiences, because no two people, and no two paths, are the same. Working together, you can expect a space that is customized to your objectives and rooted in genuine human connection. I believe a strong collaborative relationship is key to promoting meaningful growth, and I draw on person-centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), among other evidence-based approaches, to help you develop insight and gain practical tools for navigating life's challenges. From an early age, I had an innate ability to hold space for others. I was often the person friends could turn to with the parts of themselves they didn't feel safe sharing elsewhere. Those moments let me witness firsthand the power of empathy and support, and they planted the seed for the work I do today. That lifelong desire to help others feel understood, accepted, and supported led me to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Amherst College, and then a Master of Social Work from New York University. Each step deepened my understanding of what it means to truly show up for another person, and that understanding is what I bring into every session with you. When I'm not working, you'll find me painting, crocheting, singing, doing yoga, or spending time with my dog, Hank. I also just learned how to play Mah Jongg!

I look forward to walking alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and confidence in your journey to healing and achieving your goals. Having spent four years in the social work field, I saw first-hand how trauma impacts individuals and families, as well as how healing transforms lives. This diverse experience fueled my desire to become a therapist by deepening my passion to provide effective, empowering therapy that addresses the root causes of mental health struggles. I believe every person is capable of healing, which is why I bring empathy, curiosity, and genuine belief in each person’s potential to every session. When I'm not in the office, I’m most often spending time with friends or family. And when I’m not with loved ones, I enjoy being active – playing the piano, cooking, or discovering hidden gems in NYC!

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adults 18 and over, I help people navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the unconscious patterns that may be limiting their growth. At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of self-awareness and the therapeutic relationship. This belief helps me show up as a compassionate and collaborative partner throughout your therapeutic journey. I look forward to helping you build insight, emotional freedom, and more fulfilling relationships in our work together. I'm passionate about helping people develop greater self-awareness and create meaningful, lasting change by understanding the deeper roots of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — and I bring that same spirit of inquiry to every session. My specialty is psychodynamic and relational therapy, practiced in a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to you. With a psychodynamic lens, we explore how unconscious patterns from past relationships shape your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In relational therapy, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a mirror, a way to uncover patterns of connection that may be affecting how you relate to others and to yourself. No matter the modality, I ensure a compassionate, collaborative, and curious approach that is personalized to your unique history, goals, and lived experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began with a lifelong curiosity about why people are the way they are and how their life experiences influence who they become. That curiosity grew into a passion for helping others make sense of their stories. Now, my commitment has grown into a dedication to thoughtful, relationship-centered care that honors each person's unique story. Into every session, I bring genuine curiosity and a commitment to exploring the deeper roots of emotional patterns. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading fiction, staying active through exercise, and spending quality time with friends – all hobbies that help me recharge, stay grounded, and appreciate the importance of balance, connection, and lifelong learning. They also teach me insightful values that influence the way I approach my work as a therapist.

I believe that every person deserves access to care and an environment where you can truly be heard. Together, we learn to lean into discomfort as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, connected, and understood in your life and relationships. I prioritize culturally responsive, HAES-informed, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist care, so that you feel respected and empowered throughout our work. I am committed to creating a safe, affirming space where you can engage in authentic self-exploration and meaningful growth. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, existential therapy, and Mindfulness-informed somatic practices to support you in processing lived experiences and deepening emotional insight. Grounded in collaboration and compassion, this work centers on your unique values and personal story, while honoring autonomy and resilience. My work is informed by my identity as a lesbian and first-generation Japanese American. This perspective enables me to create an environment where people feel seen, understood, and supported, with care that is grounded in a deep respect for identity, culture, and lived experience. When I’m not helping patients, I stay balanced through a wide variety of hobbies, including reading, cooking and trying new restaurants, dancing, working out, crafting, traveling, and snowboarding.

Advika’s approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in both somatic and evidence-based practices. She works alongside clients to create a sense of safety, build self-awareness, and gently explore the root causes of distress at a pace that feels comfortable. Central to her process is recognizing the deep connection between mind and body. Drawing from EMDR therapy, relational psychotherapy, mindfulness, and DBT, Advika helps clients regulate emotions, heal from past experiences, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others. Her work often involves processing trauma, building emotional resilience, and developing practical skills for personal growth. Advika believes that healing is a two-step process: addressing sources of distress while also equipping clients with mental and emotional tools to thrive.
