Hello! My name is Jenn Mayeda and I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) and Mental Health Professional (MHP) in Washington state and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon. I am able to meet with residents who are living in Washington or Oregon. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University. My experience as a therapist comes from working for many years in community mental health with a wide range of clients. I have worked with children, families, teens, and adults in various programs. I also have experience doing crisis outreach at hospitals and answering calls on the crisis line and working on a specialized domestic violence team where we collaborated closely with a local DV agency to provide therapy and support to DV survivors and families impacted by domestic violence. My experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bi-polar disorder, grief and loss, life adjustments, trauma and parenting skills and support. I especially enjoy working with survivors of domestic violence. Many people think of domestic violence being mostly physical abuse, but DV also includes mental, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial, technology, religious, technology and physical abuse as well as power and control. I hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 certificate. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 sons and family, cooking, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, spending time at the beach and visiting new places. My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I empower individuals to overcome personal obstacles they are experiencing by using a variety of treatment techniques depending on the needs of each individual. I enjoy helping clients explore ways to make changes in their lives and learn new skills so they can have a hopeful and fulfilling future. If you are ready to make a positive change in your life, I encourage you to take that first step. I look forward to working with you and consider it a privilege and an honor to work alongside you on this journey. Please contact me below to schedule an intake or a free 20-minute consultation to discuss any questions you may have and to see if we may be a good fit to work together. I am currently only offering virtual appointments. I look forward to working with you!

I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself and my clients, and as a critical part of the therapeutic process (I also take advantage of the healing power of laughter whenever possible!). I aim to normalize and validate my clients’ experiences without judgment, and above all, provide the most basic of human needs: to feel seen and heard. My name is Stephanie (Stephanie or Stevie is fine) and I have been providing therapy in NJ exclusively via telehealth for about the last 4 years (prior to that, in person). If you have been struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, particularly if they are related to a traumatic experience, I would love the opportunity to work with you to reduce your mood- or anxiety-related symptoms, and to help you to experience a present that is not overshadowed or negatively impacted by situations and events from your past. I love working with women ages 20 to 30-something who are still in academia or just starting out in their careers, but also love working with women of any age. I frequently work with survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with issues related to self-esteem/self-worth, but have treated many others as well. While experience and education are an absolute necessity to do this work, I believe that my lived experience has had a profound impact on both my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships and to be a more effective therapist. My ability to connect with clients has only been strengthened by my personal experiences with child sexual abuse, growing up with a parent with serious mental illness, and managing chronic depression since childhood, as well as through supporting loved ones through the complexities of mental illness, suicide, sexual abuse, special needs, chronic illness/pain, estrangement, dissociation, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, AD/HD, divorce, parenting, emotional and financial abuse, and coercive control. While I am not generally a "glass half full" person, nor do I necessarily believe that things happen for a reason, I do believe that if you're smart, you'll look for something to learn from the pain and from the healing. Doing so has lead me to this work and I want so much to show you what is on the other side of your pain. My background has also provided me with experiences that can be drawn upon when building relationships with clients. I have had the privilege of having known, grown up with, and cared deeply about people from a variety of backgrounds, races, nationalities, gender identities, sexual orientations, etc. In terms of strengths, I am unfailingly authentic, resilient, intelligent, curious, non-judgmental, and (at least in my personal life) hilarious ;) And by the way, all of those strengths? They were not so much developed as they were uncovered…through therapy. :) Please visit my website for blog and feedback from clients: www.of2mindstherapy.com *My practice is focused primarily on treating adults who identify as female as well as being a welcoming space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I do not currently treat cisgender heterosexual males, children or adolescents. I am currently licensed to treat clients in NJ, CT, OR, and WA Please reach out to see if your insurance is accepted. Developmental trauma (experiences as we grow, including our family of origin) shapes how we see the world, sometimes unsafe and challenging to navigate. Our attachments are the foundations in which we trust or find conflict. Developmental trauma may manifest in the body as anxiety, stress, distress, relationship difficulties, depression and more. There is healing to be found here, to be understood and nourished. Well done on the first step in a journey toward wellness. The most important aspect of therapy is finding a person who makes you feel safe and heard. I look forward to collaborating. I have training and experience in working with trauma, family of origin/generational cycles, attachment disruptions, complicated grief and loss, sexuality, sex work and with LGBTQAI+ persons. I love working through emotions, trauma and somatic experiencing. I am Level I Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy trained. I enjoy working with and understanding folx from their perspective; I work with singles, couples, non-monogamous consensual relationships and families. I provide a safe, unassuming space in which you can find felt safety. I appreciate the eclectic person you are and would like to help you identify your own cracks, so that you can let your own light in. Working with college ages and young adults is one of my favorite parts of practicing. Over the years I’ve helped students through applying to different colleges and universities, choosing the best school, choosing a major, to preparing for graduation. College can be stressful and I encourage clients to create a balance with academics and recreational activities to protect against burnout and feeling overwhelmed. Living independently for the first time is a big transition and sometimes it’s helpful to have extra support as you navigate this new phase of life.

My ideal client is motivated to improve their quality of life and may struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and grief/trauma related issues. They are interested in understanding themselves and cultivating healthy coping strategies to deal with the challenges of our modern world, with the ultimate goal of thriving, not just surviving. They understand that we all have the opportunity to continue growing and want to live a more self-expressed life by identifying and challenging negative and self-limiting thinking patterns. I compassionately support and validate my clients, while also encouraging them to take on the challenges in their life. I have significant experience with mindfulness practices and believe in the power of creativity (writing, music, art) as a therapeutic tool. Most people are settling for less than what their lives can possibly be. I am committed to helping you lead a self-expressed life and to help you see all the ways that you are a gift to yourself and others. I do not have all the answers, but I believe that together we can inspire each other and produce breakthroughs you may not think are possible.

Over-stimulation of sensitivities and the need for recognition and care of those sensitivities is so important in the world we live in today. I have worked with Neuro-divergent clients helping them to understand, address and heal the trauma of power and control, which causes so much suffering in our present world. With twenty plus years of extensive experience working with high-spectrum autism, I offer personalized therapy sessions designed to support both clients and caregivers, helping you create positive change, build stronger connections, and foster growth in your relationship with your loved one. Cognitive Bodhicitta Therapy is a course of treatment which helps my clients to unpack and process their past, letting go of their trauma, so that they may find their purpose, to build the life they wish to live. "Know Thyself", is the core tenet of my work and to love oneself is to truly know oneself. Let me help you find that purpose and self love. My journey has been that of a healer, join me in that journey and let me help you find your personal path to healing and self love.

I primarily work with individuals struggling with compulsive behavior, including sex/porn addiction, codependency, internet/social media addiction, and problem spending/debting. Addiction is meant to make you feel less. It provides temporary numbing for lifelong pain. You feel trapped, depressed, angry, anxious, guilty, and afraid when you can't stop. Recovering from compulsive behavior, though not easy, is possible and has been accomplished many times. But it does require a complete change in beliefs and attitude, along with how to deal with life and its problems. Getting out of your head and taking action is the next indicated step. Listen to your mind and body - it's time to stop treating yourself so badly. I can help you learn to help yourself. You can become your own best advocate. All are welcome in my office, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities.

My name is Kaci Schmitt (she/her). I am happy and honored to be able to offer counseling and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, as well as throughout the states of Oregon and Washington for teletherapy. I truly enjoy working with clients who are looking to process various experiences, transitions, and challenges in their lives, as well as gain knowledge, trust, and compassion for themselves and deepen their capacity for mental and emotional wellness. There are times in life where we can use an empathic, nonjudgmental therapist who can be present with us as we explore our challenges and develop insight. In addition to deeply listening to you, I will hold space for your stories, history, and cultural experiences, as well as encourage you to hold compassion and curiosity for your unique challenges. I specialize in working with teens and adults with anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. Many of the clients I work with are highly sensitive persons (HSPs) and looking for ways to cultivate wellness in their lives. I also frequently work with people in the helping fields who are experiencing burnout and exhaustion, who are ready to explore ways to process vicarious and secondary trauma and prioritize true self-care. I truly love the work I do. I began my practice because I believe that we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and transform, and that we all have insight that we can develop and learn to trust. I also believe that working through our challenges with self-compassion and understanding can help us move from pain and frustration to peace and autonomy. We are all capable of creating meaningful lives of peace. I deeply believe that we all have an innate capacity to heal and that each person is their own best resource and source of wisdom, and that we often need a little help allowing ourselves to access and trust our intuition. We all have many possible selves, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, who others are, and how life works can help or hurt our chances at being the self we want to be. I also believe that there must be space in therapy to process the things about life that are hard, painful, exhausting, and often heartbreaking, all while cultivating a gentler, more compassionate, resilient way of being in this world. Therapy allows us the opportunity to develop self-awareness and explore action steps that we can take to improve our wellbeing. I respect the process it takes to discover new things about ourselves and integrate what we have learned into our lives, and I encourage my clients to do so with great care for themselves. I consider it a privilege to be a collaborative partner in the healing and transformation process.

Starting the therapy process is a sign of strength and vulnerability. I believe that we all have the power to create change in our lives by allowing ourselves to see ourselves and be seen by others in our lives. Together, we will explore the origins of your patterns of thinking/behaving/relating as well as the functions that these patterns serve, assess your barriers to change, identify your strengths and resources, and practice new ways of coping in order to help you live a more satisfying life.
