Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Please see website, http://www.marydioriolcsw.com I am in network with Pacific Source and I am taking new clients. My professional biller can bill out of network so you do not need to handle any paperwork. I work with college students online in Oregon and New York. I work with eating disorders, anxiety, social phobias, depression, and difficult life transitions. I am also starting a binge eating group and an RO DBT Group for college students in 2025.
I provide individual therapy for adults on issues of anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts and/or feelings, self-criticism, grief, and relationship dissatisfaction. Our time together will be engaging, thought provoking, and supportive. I also understand counseling can be painful at times. I am committed to being present alongside you during these moments and to honor your exploration into where you have been, where you are, and where you would like to go. I can assist you in growing self-compassion, unhooking from painful thoughts and feelings, developing healthy coping skills, and supporting your pursuits of a meaningful life. We can approach our work together using a variety of frameworks and I will adapt to meet your needs and preferences. I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. I aim to be queer/LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally sensitive, anti-racist, trauma informed, and weight inclusive. I value taking a curious and non-judgmental stance with all of my clients. My approach is person-centered, relational, and collaborative.
I work with college students, graduate students, and adults navigating life's many transitions. Before entering private practice, I worked in two university counseling centers, where my clinical work focused on supporting young and emerging adults as they managed academic stress, relationships, identity development, anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life decisions. I especially enjoy working with highly sensitive people (HSPs), adults with ADHD, and those exploring or adjusting to a late diagnosis of autism. I also have extensive experience supporting clients exploring questions related to gender and sexual identity. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who feel overwhelmed, stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns, or exhausted from trying to meet others’ expectations while feeling disconnected from themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and relational. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for lasting change. Together, we'll explore the emotional and relational patterns that shape your life, helping you develop greater insight, emotional awareness, self-compassion, and new ways of responding to challenges. My work is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy, while also incorporating mindfulness- and compassion-based approaches, as well as somatic awareness and experiential interventions when they are helpful. I tailor therapy to each person, balancing reflection and insight with practical tools that help you feel more connected, resilient, and authentic. I practice from a feminist and anti-oppressive perspective and strive to create a culturally responsive, affirming space where all aspects of your identity and experience are welcomed with curiosity, respect, and compassion.
Together we can address challenges and promote meaningful change. Specializations include navigating major life transitions (college, mid-life, identity, relationships, health) and coping with trauma, grief, and intense stressors. Let's collaborate and see what is possible.
Hi, my name is Matthew Block and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I typically work with teens(16+), adults, couples and Parents. I enjoy helping people work through identity development, ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting support, and spiritual concerns. I believe people are influenced by their biological temperament, life experiences, past and present relationships with significant people, and their core values. My approach to therapy incorporates cognitive methods (examining one’s thoughts and beliefs). I view counseling as a collaborative effort in helping clients to recognize strengths, identify needs, understand conflicts, discover new options, set personal growth goals, and make informed choices. I earned my B.A. at Multnomah University and received my Masters in Counseling from Western Seminary. Prior to my current counseling practice, I worked for group practices including, Sundstrom Clinical Services, River Ridge Counseling and Northwest ADHD treatment center. My clinical training experience includes working at a residential treatment program for teens, and internships at Northwest Family Services and A New Day Counseling Center.
Hi, I’m Griffin (he/him). College can bring up more than you expect — old patterns resurface, relationships get complicated, and sometimes it's hard to explain why you feel off when everything looks fine on paper. I work best with students who have some awareness of what's going on but can't seem to make it stop. If you're dealing with trauma, identity questions, ADHD, anxiety, or just a persistent feeling that something underneath isn't working — this is a good space to figure it out.
I utilize a collaborative approach to therapy. I may have knowledge and experience in therapeutic skills, but the client is the expert on their life and the issues they bring to therapy. It takes both of us to share our understanding to develop goals and create the change the client desires. I use strategies from a variety of different therapeutic theories, but I like to practice solution-focused strategies when possible. Sometimes we don't need to know a lot about the history of the problem to solve it. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group is a behavioral health provider group in-network with Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth. For my availability, please reach out to Octave’s team by emailing or calling.
As a certified Clinical Trauma Therapist, I work with women, gender-diverse, and Neurodiverse individuals. My areas of specialization include Anxiety, ADHD, ASD, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Women's Issues. As a Dialectical Behavior Therapist, I employ mindfulness, skills training, behavioral analysis, and change interventions to enhance self-awareness, assimilate value systems, and refine skills for practical application. I integrate Attachment Theory with Motivational Interviewing to cultivate strengths-based and client-centered therapeutic tools. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. I have worked in a variety of settings and with people of all ages. My style has been described as warm, collaborative, compassionate, and direct when needed. As both a therapist and a person who has received therapy, I do not hide my humanity from my clients, and value being transparent and genuine in my approach. Something you'll notice when working with me is that I often hold two seemingly conflicting ideas as true at the same time. I will both validate your experiences and challenge you to change -- always with the goal of living more congruently with your deepest-held values. Your individual experiences, goals, and priorities will be at the heart of your care in my small practice. I'm proud to offer a whole-person approach, with therapy and thoughtful medication management services to support your unique journey of growth and healing. I am accepting new patients, and pleased to serve clients throughout the states of Oregon and New York via telehealth.
Feeling like you need a safe space? Maybe you've felt pressured to hide parts of yourself and have struggled to connect with others, or you feel isolated and misunderstood. Perhaps your emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to manage, or it's hard to feel present when you are around other people. If you are struggling, you do not have to do it alone! I work with ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma. It can be hard to adjust to college life and even harder to navigate if you need accommodations or are struggling with your mental health. In therapy, I can help you better understand your emotions and learn practical strategies to find relief and cope with challenges. I can also help you with paperwork if you need accommodations at school. I am licensed in New York and Oregon. I can work with you if you are in either of those states or if you travel back and forth for school and breaks.

I am passionate about using evidence based practices and helping to stay on track with my client’s through keeping our objective in sight. I work hard to create a space that is non judgemental, where people can show up exactly as they are.
