Therapists for college students near Philadelphia, PA
College can be an incredible time of growth, but it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, or uncertain. If you’re navigating stress, grief, identity questions, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to support you without judgment. My style is down-to-earth, collaborative, and focused on what matters most to you. I won’t just nod and take notes, I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and work with you to find real tools and clarity. I care deeply about creating a safe space where you can be your full self, whether you're used to therapy or just testing the waters. Outside of therapy, I’m a parent, a dog lover, and someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people on a human level. You're not alone in what you're going through, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. Let’s talk when you’re ready.
As a person who lives on Earth, I can relate to what it is like to be alive. Living requires consistent effort and upkeep. Sometimes, talking to a mental health professional can bolster one’s capacity to cope with the challenges that come with living.
I help young adults with difficult life transitions, identity development, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, family discords, as well as stress related to race, gender and sexuality. I aim to support you in self discovery and guide you in navigating life challenges. I strive to create and provide a space that is compassionate, supportive and collaborative. I value working with clients from a diverse background and cultural identities. I advocate for young adults, especially those who are marginalized. My work is person centered. I help facilitate your self exploration and acceptance, and lead you towards healing and growth. I tailor my approach towards each individual’s needs, using cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and strength based therapy. It is a true privilege for me to get to know each of my clients and to witness changes and even transformations for young adults. Please feel free to reach out with questions or set up a phone consultation. I am here to listen, relate and help. You can find more information on my website at www.wangmiranda.com
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, sad, frustrated, confused, or anything in between - it can feel like you're not yourself anymore. Talking about it can help. I’m here to listen non-judgmentally and help you prioritize what’s most important to you. We will work together to find solutions that help you feel like yourself again! I am a graduate of the University of Scranton (B.S. in Counseling & Human Services and Philosophy) and Temple University (Master of Social Work). I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and can see clients virtually if they are located in PA or CT. Please feel free to message me or request an appointment if you would like to see if I am a good fit for you. I look forward to working with you!
*Due to the current Covid-19 crises, my practice is set up to see patients thru video conference calling which is HIPPA compliant for privacy. I believe that individual therapy is the bedrock of mental health change especially for personal issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship self esteem and emotional problems of living. Counseling with your therapist needs to be collaborative where clients sort out thoughts and feelings in order to get a better understanding of who they are. Counseling is completely different from person to person. One client may want more advice or suggestions. Another might want mostly to vent and to be heard. Still others may need to be challenged or confronted. In general, though, most therapists believe that counseling helps us understand thoughts and feelings about ourselves that we have not previously fully recognized. Sigmund Freud referred to this process as making that which is unconscious conscious. I trust that clients know deep down what should be talked about in therapy and that they mostly need help knowing how to access these thoughts and feelings in order to realize what it is they want and need from others and their lives. My approach is eclectic or integrative, but I use many behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches in my work. I am particularly interested in evidenced-based and best practices approaches to treatment and so I continually challenge myself to learn newly refined techniques and approaches and provide each patient with the best of my learning over 30 years of practice in multiple settings. I am humanistic and client centered as well and and have found that it often helps patients to know that their therapist is a regular, genuine and authentic individual who is dedicated to my profession and feels that much can be learned from the relationship of therapy. Many clients come to a therapist’s office because they are struggling in their relationships. Paying attention to how your relationship develops in the office can help you understand how really important social interactions in your life outside of the therapeutic relationship actually work.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I'm glad you're here. My hope is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, or a major life transition, my goal is to meet you with warmth, authenticity, and compassion. Together, we'll build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills using CBT and solution-focused strategies, and work toward helping you feel more confident, resilient, and like yourself again.
Psychotherapy that helps to bring about transformation will offer insights into the deeper motivations that lie outside of our conscious awareness in everyday encounters. Circle Counseling seeks to provide, through the therapeutic relationships formed between our clients and counselors, the opportunity for the client to risk new ways of relating and being in the world. Each client comes with unique strengths and unique hurts that, when fully explored, will bring to light new, more healthy ways of thinking, feeling, and acting in the world. The truth about ourselves is sometimes hard to see, hard to understand, and hard to admit, but in therapy these hard realities can be looked at within the safety of a caring, professional relationship. Let the truth set you free in new ways. Deepen your spirit and find new joy. We have 15 therapists ready to provide services.
The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. I believe that at some point in life, everybody needs somebody. None of us are immune to hardship and distress. Really, it is not a matter of "if" but "when." Even though there are natural ebbs and flows, sometimes we need for someone to hear us, hold our pain, validate our experience and model a new way of coping with patterns of thinking and behavior that keep us stuck. For that reason, my passion is to aide in a client’s journey towards self-fulfillment. Through my clinical work, I am committed to supporting and empowering clients in times of distress through warmth, compassion, and challenging them to discover their true selves. I use a variety of systems that takes an integrative approach to help clients develop strategies for generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic, phobias, separation anxiety, PANS/PANDAS, tics, hair pulling, skin picking, and trauma. Additionally, I have experience working with selective mutism, survivors of violent and non-violent crimes, and first responder’s mental health.
