I work primarily with college students and young adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, and general life stressors. I have many years of experiencing working at different universities in the Pittsburgh area, which is helpful to my work with students as I am particularly knowledgeable about resources, common stressors students at each school experience, and how best to navigate university systems when you are struggling emotionally. I am experienced in supporting international, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ students. I have a warm, conversational style, and am adept at helping students gain skills and discover tools for managing their emotional struggles at the pace that works best for them.

Hi, I'm Jamie I'm interested in how emotional abuse or neglect have impacted my client's current state. If you have had a negative experience with another therapist, family member(s) or the church, I'd would like the privilege to earn your trust and help you get to the root of your struggle. I specialize in identifying and treating victims of narcissistic abuse.‍

I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to grow when they’re in a space that feels safe and accepting. At the heart of my work is building a genuine, trusting connection with you—because real healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll create a warm and welcoming space where vulnerability is embraced and self-exploration feels comfortable. Above all, I’m here to hold space for you with kindness and openness, honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, wisdom, and hopes for the future. Specializations I’m especially passionate about supporting adults who grew up with caregivers who, for various reasons, may not have met their emotional needs.Together, we work to heal from those early experiences, find your true voice, clarify what matters most to you, and create a life that feels authentic, grounded, and free. I work with clients ages 15 and up to navigate challenges related to: Childhood relational trauma, emotionally immature parents, & unmet emotional needs Relationship patterns, boundaries, people-pleasing, & guilt Exploring identity, values, & personal growth Identity diffusion & enmeshment Shame, self-doubt, & indecisiveness Life transitions & emerging adulthood Grief & loss Anxiety, depression, & low self-worth Emotional regulation & distress tolerance Could We be a Good Fit? Clients who tend to do well with me often appreciate a little lightheartedness or humor during our sessions and enjoy putting what we talk about into practice between meetings—sometimes through small homework or weekly goals. Many have found it helpful to bring their creative interests into our work, which helps us build a space where you can feel safe, inspired, and free to be your authentic self. I’ve also noticed that adolescents, young adults, and college students often feel especially comfortable and connected in our time together. Therapeutic Approaches My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. For those who resonate with this approach, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support compassionate exploration of your inner parts. I also use a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of your life experiences and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. While CBT and IFS are my go-to methods, I like to keep things flexible, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to what feels right for you. My hope is that you find a space in therapy that feels human, welcoming, and uniquely yours. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together in a way that supports your growth. I currently offer teletherapy sessions at River Wards Wellness Collective. I use hypnotherapy as a means to help people heal from the inside out. After spending 20 years practicing as a physician healing patient's bodies, I now focus on the mind and mental health. Every human has the responsibility and the ability to love and care for themselves as much as they care for others in the world. Good mental health is the key to good physical health and to living a full, engaging life. I help people who suffer from negative self-talk, negative self-image and teach people how to find their true selves beneath all the distracting chatter that tends to go on in our heads. Inner freedom therapy's technique works well for anxiety or physical symptoms or pain that worsens at times of stress. It also works well to help you stop unwanted habits. I offer a free consultation and discussion with a link on my website, or give me a call or email to meet and discuss if you are a good match for Inner Freedom Therapy programs.

I am a versatile, dedicated clinician who is passionate about helping you uncover your true self, and pull back the layers that have gotten in the way. If you are feeling emotionally out-of-control, overwhelmed or plagued by your past, allow me to walk alongside you as we come up with a solution together. I often use an individualized, eclectic approach incorporating concepts from various modalities. I will meet you wherever you are without judgment. Sometimes, we are in need of support, or a nudge in the right direction. It may be hard to know what we need. It would be my honor to help if you can relate to any of the above. My clinical background spans over 16 years and includes work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings (teens and adults). At my core, I am a humanistic therapist. Although I am versatile, I do hold certifications in both DBT and trauma-informed care. I'm happy to work with individuals ages 14+, as well as couples. If any of this resonates, please reach out today by phone or email. Our dedicated staff at Seasons of Hope and Healing are happy to assist. Most people who look at you might never know how much you are struggling. Your pattern of holding it all in, staying busy, or pulling away from others has worked well enough to get you through… till now. Now, it feels more like you’re caught in an endless maze of thoughts and worries, or like there’s a weighted blanket dragging you down. When anxiety or depression are present, everything in life can feel more difficult. I am a trauma-informed therapist specializing in helping you unpack those things that connect your past and present to build a more fulfilling, authentic future. I take a practical and straightforward approach to therapy and am comfortable with discomfort if it means making progress. As your therapist, I will take the time to see things from your point of view. You know your life best, so I will listen and understand. My sessions are open, honest, and thoughtful. Therapy shouldn't be another place where you have to pretend. I will work to understand the real you and use my experience to help you.

Thanks for clicking! Feeling like you're not growing? Have you hit a snag or is there a barrier that is keeping you from meeting your goals? I'd love to help! I would like to help you reach the longer-lasting effects that are the consequences of an insight-based and action-oriented approach to counseling. Let's figure out what happened, how it's affecting you, and what we can do together to help you overcome it, learn from it, and grow. My specialty is Gestalt psychotherapy. I use this model to help clients understand how they might be unhelpfully reacting to bad events or people and learn to overcome those reactions so as to become stronger individuals. Digging deep is part of this orientation to therapy, but only at your pace. I will be with you through this and through your growth. I would like to build a positive therapeutic relationship with you so that we can help you meet your goals of increased insight and self-exploration. The process of finding a matching counselor is definitely overwhelming. I look forward to talking and meeting you! Feel free to call me for a free consultation. For prospective supervisees, please contact me!
