Therapists for college students near University of Pennsylvania
At South Hills Counseling, everything we do is guided by our four core values: These principles inform not only how we approach therapy, but also how we build our team and our business. We believe we've struck a unique balance between having a warm, family-oriented feel and the professional structure of a well-run clinic. This allows us to create a comfortable environment for clients while ensuring consistent, high-quality care. 1. Always Caring. We approach every interaction with empathy and compassion. 2. Remain Committed. We're dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care for every client. 3. Be Inspiring. We encourage growth and positive change in both our clients and our team. 4. Forever Growing. We continually evolve our practice to better serve our community. Our mission is grounded in our greater purpose—Navigating Pathways to Wellness through Growth—which guides every aspect of how we serve our clients, support our team, and build a thriving practice. Our approach focuses on providing a private practice atmosphere without the impersonal aspects sometimes found in larger clinical settings. This creates a warm, welcoming environment where healing can truly take place.

Hi! Welcome to my profile :) I am, by nature, highly empathetic and an active listener with years of experience working with diverse populations. I prioritize the client-therapist relationship in my work to foster trust, care, and collaboration. I show up as my genuine self in therapy and leave room for my clients to do the same. I have 5 years of experience working at a state university counseling center providing individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world. My clinical interests include complex trauma, childhood abuse, sexual abuse/assault, intimate partner violence, traumatic grief, suicidal ideation, and complex family concerns. I operate from a systemic, relational, and trauma-informed lens with a mix of psychodynamic, somatic experiencing, emotion-focused, humanistic, and mindfulness-based approaches. I look forward to supporting you while helping you heal, slow down, love yourself, and be present.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and combines creative expression with elements of traditional counseling. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, and day-to-day life stressors and transitions, as well as children and adolescents living with chronic pain and illness. My other experience involves individual, group, and familial support in medical, residential, and educational settings. I aim to provide a calm, relaxing, and inviting environment.
Are you in search of a therapist who understands the unique experiences of trans and queer individuals? Are you navigating how to address trauma, cope with late-stage capitalism, handle ADHD and autistic burnout, or explore gender and sexuality? I am committed to serving individuals within my community, particularly those who identify as trans and queer. I approach my practice as kink-aware, anti-capitalist, pro-sex worker, and knowledgeable about non-monogamous relationships. Because you know you best, we will collaborate to explore your intentions, identify therapeutic goals, and establish an individualized plan. I am IFS informed and utilize art therapy to deepen self-understanding and promote healing with clients. My aim during our sessions is to create a safe, inclusive space where you can freely express yourself. Hi, I'm Kris. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have experience working with a wide range of populations. I’m especially passionate about supporting women, members and parents of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating grief, loss, depression, anxiety, or simply the everyday challenges that life can bring. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and supported on your path toward healing and growth.
Many of the students I work with are navigating a lot internally—stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling unsure about their path. You might find yourself overthinking, putting pressure on yourself to have everything figured out, or struggling in relationships while trying to balance it all. You may look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but feel overwhelmed or stuck underneath. You don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re open to growing, gaining clarity, and building a stronger relationship with yourself, we’d likely work well together.
Therapy should be an environment where you feel accepted and empowered so you can face the difficult challenges that are part of the human experience. When we feel lost in life, that can often lead to feeling overwhelmed and doubt within ourselves. You can end up questioning who you are and if you can be truly accepted as your authentic self. You deserve a space where you can learn about and face the scary parts of you in order to build self-confidence and navigate the world. In my practice, I first use authenticity, transparency, and compassion in order to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you. Then I utilize different techniques in order to help you understand the root of your behaviors, develop skills in order to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings, and identify your values in order to create a life worth living.
Please feel free to reach out. Christine Jones MA, NCC
I work with college students and adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, academic pressures, relationships, and life transitions. I take a collaborative and supportive approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. Some clients choose to explore EMDR, and I’m trained to use it when it fits, but many find our sessions helpful through conversation, reflection, and practical coping strategies. I aim to create a space where students feel understood and empowered, whether you’re struggling with burnout, uncertainty about the future, or past experiences that continue to affect your life. I accept BCBS of Michigan and BCN and offer telehealth sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make therapy accessible and easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Hello! My name is Dr. Kim Wasserman. I am a private practicing Psychologist with over 30 years of experience in assisting individuals with developing greater self-understanding and life satisfaction via counseling. I work extensively with adults and college students who want to enhance their relationships, improve career/school performance and manage the stress in their lives more effectively. Through psychotherapy, many people come to understand the causes of their current life difficulties and are able to develop and implement 'tools' which allow them to achieve greater happiness and satisfaction in their lives. I am happy to speak with you about how counseling can help you enhance your potential and make a difference in the quality of your life.
Same or next week availability! Welcome, I'm Dr Amy O'Donnell. I'm not here to fix you. Because you aren't broken. I believe everyone naturally has the capacity for healing. Together we learn how that looks for you. I help you incorporate natural approaches into your mental health care to create lasting change in mood, stress and sense of purpose. I’m an integrative psychiatrist. I think of my practice as like a one-stop-shop as services that are normally diluted among different providers get streamlined into one place - psychodynamic psychotherapy, medication management, and holistic approaches like nutrition, supplements and botanicals. While I can help with many concerns, my main areas of focus include new and expectant moms, medication de-prescribing and navigating high stress or low mood. We dig deeper to build insight into your whole person, address root causes and establish a resilient foundation so you face life’s challenges with increasing confidence and balance. I’ll be honest; creating lasting change will be challenging and uncomfortable at times. It will require commitment. My promise to you is that you won’t be alone on this journey. If you think we might be a good fit, please check out my website www.naturesflowpsych.com and schedule a free 15-minutes introductory call. I look forward to connecting with you.
I specialize in working with late teens (16+) and adults navigating the transition into independence, identity, and adulthood. This stage of life can feel overwhelming—whether you're managing anxiety, adjusting to college or post-grad life, struggling with relationships, or feeling stuck in uncertainty about your next steps. Many of my clients are high-functioning but internally overwhelmed—balancing expectations, pressure, and major life changes while trying to figure out who they are and what they want. I provide a supportive space to slow things down, build insight, and develop practical tools to aid you in your journey. I strongly believe that we must take time to nurture our emotional and mental well being just as we do with our physical being.
In the sacred space of healing and wellness, I find my greatest fulfillment in guiding individuals through the intricate tapestry of their mental health journey. Whether you're navigating stress and anxiety, grappling with trauma, or undergoing challenging life transitions, my purpose is to be a steadfast companion on your path to thriving. With a foundation rooted in faith-based counseling and somatic work, I am dedicated to fostering holistic well-being. My mission is to help you overcome challenges and discover profound spiritual and emotional growth. While I can't promise to fix every problem, I assure you you won't face them alone. My commitment is to listen deeply, respond thoughtfully, and guide gently, providing unwavering support as you embark on this transformative journey. If you're ready to take the first step toward healing, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
