Welcome! My name is "Dr. Ed." I'm a Ph.D.-Diplomate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Houston and Governors State. In our multicultural world, therapy is a safe place to respect your values and honor your strengths! √ I'm 4.6 rated with 60+ reviews on HealthGrades, United Health, Aetna and Cigna. My treatment philosophy is built on respect and appreciation of the dignity for each person I work with. Let me emphasize this one more time, YOU don't have to settle for a poor self-image from negative experiences nor settle with poor relationships with your family, spouse, kids and yourself. Let's figure it out..together.. My therapy specialty is working with adults, couples, families, and pre-teens who are dealing with feelings of rejection, grief, and situation anxiousness-including balancing family and work-life stressors. I greatly appreciate listening to the adult male voice in relationships and families. Learning ways to bridge the gap in communication styles between men and women, parents and children, is important work! Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a core faculty member for nine years at Capella University-graduate and doctoral programs in Social Work and Public Service Leadership. Outside of work, Dr. Ed enjoys traveling to Barbados, Cancun, Houston Rodeo, is active in the KAY fraternity, and is an Astros and Cubs fan. "If I am not good to myself, how can I expect anyone else to be good to me"- Maya Angelou

My passion is helping youth and adults find a way to live their best life! Sometimes that looks like coaching for success and other times it involves addressing concerns that interfere with living well such as anxiety, autism, neurodiversity, social interactions, stress, and sports performance anxiety. I am paneled with many insurances other than those listed below. I am licensed in North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, South Carolina, and Nebraska. I am a trained provider of cognitive rehabilitation for (TBI) brain injury. Check on my website link to see if I have your insurance paneled with me. I look forward to meeting you!

Pre-Licensed Professional
Dripping Springs, TX

At Therapy-Tree, I specialize in helping people navigate the messy & complicated parts of life—and for college students, that often means balancing independence, relationships, academics, and figuring out who you are meant to be. Many of the students I work with share a common thread: they feel the weight of expectations. Sometimes it shows up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety about the future, or being hard on themselves when things don’t go perfectly. Others are feeling stuck and frozen, untangling relationship patterns, healing from past hurts, or learning how to trust themselves and set boundaries. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I meet you where you are and follow your lead—you’ll get tools, honest conversations, and a safe space where all parts of your story are welcome. Whether we’re exploring stress, identity, relationships, or healing from trauma, my focus is on helping you feel grounded, supported, and more connected to yourself. If you’re a student who wants to be more emotionally regulated, feel more confident, and grow in ways that matter to you, Therapy-Tree might be a good fit.

College is supposed to be exciting, full of possibility and growth, but it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and uncertain in ways no one really prepares you for. The pressure to succeed and have everything figured out, adds up. If you’ve been carrying more than you can hold on your own, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. Reaching out doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re human—and you deserve support, understanding, and a space where you can finally exhale.

Life is hard! I get it, and more importantly, I get you. Therapy doesn't have to be hard. Sometimes you just need some extra set of eyes on your life with genuine concern and wide expertise. What type of clients found the most success with you thus far? Therapy doesn't work like that with me. Counseling is a personal process. But if you're willing to be goal set, grow, and experience counseling in a non-"bad and bougie" sort of way. Then come check me out!!!!

I believe in whole person connection and healing. Every part of our lives are intertwined together. When one part is out of balance, all the others will be as well. This is the approach I take to counseling. Lets focus on your mind, your body, and your spirit and enact small adjustment to change your life. I am a certified integrative nutrition health coach and a fitness instructor. I have been working with individuals for more than 5 years to reach their health and wellness goals. My passion is helping people reach their goals. It can be tough. Having the right tools helps exponentially. I work with my clients to help them find the areas of their lives that are out of balance and getting them back to a healthy place. Being vulnerable can be scary and challenging, but committing to the work and making small changes can make all the difference. Reach out today!

You’re juggling a lot. Classes, work, friends, family, money, maybe figuring out who you are and what you actually want from life. And somewhere in the middle of all that, your mental health is supposed to “keep up.” My practice is here for that in-between space—when things aren’t exactly falling apart, but they’re definitely not okay. I work with college students who are dealing with anxiety, overthinking, burnout, relationship stress, grief, and big life transitions. Together, we slow things down, sort through the noise, and build practical tools you can actually use in real life. Sessions are judgment-free, conversational, and tailored to you—no pressure to be “put together” or say the perfect thing. You can come as you are: exhausted, unsure, overwhelmed, or just curious about therapy. If you’re ready to feel a little less stuck and a little more like yourself again, you’re in the right place.

Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world.  I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. I am a life transition therapist. I help adults overcome anxiety and the unknown in order to step into new seasons of life with confidence and hope. Transitions can be exhausting. A breakup, leaving your country or the place you used to live or work, losing your health, starting college or grad school are moments when your inner coping resources could fail. Also, when you lose a loved one, you may feel estranged and angry for a long period, and traumatized too. Finding a safe space to heal and learn new coping strategies can make a difference. Working with me you will learn new tools to navigate into safe emotional shores. I have worked for 16 years treating anxious and depressed mood, trauma, the integration of contents of dreams and nightmares, somatic and relationship issues, themes of personal growth. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative, promoting a body-mind-spirit connection. I do trauma-informed, attachment, body focused, and cognitive behavioral interventions. It has been my privilege to hold the space for those who are in deep emotional pain, witness their wisdom as they make meaning of their suffering until they feel ready to move on. I will be a trustworthy and respectful listener during your healing journey, and we will work together in a cooperative manner.
