Therapists for college students near 30309
Hi there! My name is Julia, and am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Georgia. I am passionate about walking alongside young adults and college students navigating challenges related to anxiety, emotional regulation, effects of trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I also have expertise in supporting women in the pre- and postpartum period. I am dedicated to creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which clients feel comfortable to be their most true selves, explore their values and strengths, and connect with their inherent worth. I use a trauma-informed, relational approach to therapy that combines a thoughtful blend of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices to help clients connect with the present moment. I bring a warm, grounding, and compassionate energy to therapy, offering a space that is nonjudgmental and connected. I love supporting clients in better understanding their emotional worlds, developing practical tools for self-regulation, building secure relationships, and reconnecting with their sense of self. I would be honored to get to work with you!

My mission is to foster healing, growth, and a strong sense of self in each of my clients. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to thrive. My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic. I pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build coping strategies and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance mindfulness and emotion regulation. And, as a former Registered Behavior Technician, I use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach behavior modification strategies. I am a music lover, avid reader, and proud member of the Atlanta Jewish community. I am a “lifelong” camper, attending overnight summer camp as both a camper and staff member for over ten years. Before pursuing my Masters in Social Work at UGA, I worked as a fourth grade teaching assistant and a behavioral therapist for children with severe autism.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, Gershom Lazarus draws from a background in physiology, neuropsychology, and clinical psychology to provide an integrated approach to assessment and treatment. He currently practices as a partner of IPD, an institute established over 40 years with offices in Georgia and Florida. Dr. Lazarus initially came to the United States as an international student and can relate to some of the seemingly unrelenting challenges facing students currently. The primary approach to providing care is rooted in developing an understanding of contributing factors at the physiological, neurological/neuropsychological, and psychological levels within the context of an individual’s behavioral and societal functioning. Each session aims to focus on understanding and psycho-education regarding the presenting issues, exercises for between sessions designed to practice strategies developed in-session, and ultimately “real-world” applications targeting areas of concern. While the initial focus tends to be managing the main areas of concern, the importance of growth and meaning are gradually introduced.
It is important that you have a space that is supportive, validating, and most importantly safe for us to work towards exploring healthy and effective ways to cope with changes that impact you physically, mentally, emotionally, and for some spiritually. I will meet you where you are in your unique circumstances that brought you to this space for healing and clarity. Flowing With Growth Psychotherapy is a safe space that welcomes BIPOC clients of all sexual, gender, and intersecting identities. I work with clients who are in and/or exploring different relationship structures (polyamory). I am also sex positive & kink allied!
We are Living Fully Psychological Services, but affectionately call ourselves Living Fully Therapy. Dr. Pegah Moghaddam is the owner and founder of Living Fully. We provide therapy online and in-person at an office located in Atlanta, Georgia, within walking distance of Emory University. Our psychologists and therapists specialize in therapy for trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and sleep. With life experience comes pain, loss, and suffering. Healing, growth, and change are a result of processing these painful experiences in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. At Living Fully Therapy, we provide unique therapeutic services. Our goal is to learn about and understand your unique history and life path with openness, compassion, acceptance, and patience. We will teach you to do the same for yourself, as these factors are necessary to the process of change and ultimately to live fully. From there, we will determine where you'd like to go and the most effective process to achieving your goals. We are honored to facilitate your journey toward living fully. Please note that we are an out-of-network, non-preferred provider with Aetna student health insurance for Emory students. If you are enrolled in the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan (EUSHIP), you will need a referral from Emory Student Health Services to Living Fully before starting sessions. You will need one referral per academic year (which begins each August 1). The 2023-2024 EUSHIP has a $750 deductible for non-preferred providers, which you will typically meet within your first 5-6 sessions at Living Fully. After your deductible is met, you will pay approximately $85 per session.
I specialize in supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds as they navigate major life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, assertive communication, and relationship building. My therapy services cater to individuals ranging from 7 years old to adulthood, providing individual, parent, and family therapy. Sessions with me are crafted to explore the underlying motivations behind behaviors, fostering a non-judgmental mindset, and aligning actions with goals of self-efficiency, regulation, mindfulness, and fulfillment. In group settings, I work with elementary, middle, and high schoolers, as well as young adults, to introduce coping skills, promote positive interactions, and address challenges related to executive function. I utilize art, play, and talk therapy techniques to empower clients to reach their full potential. I am particularly passionate about supporting parents in managing role balancing and enhancing family communication, empowering them to model healthy behaviors for their children. My aim is to create an environment that reduces stigma surrounding mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders, promoting open dialogue and understanding. I operate as an out-of-network provider. Individual sessions are priced between $120 and $175, depending on the appointment time. Sessions scheduled between 10 AM and 1 PM on Mondays through Thursdays are priced at $120, while appointments between 3 PM and 5 PM are $175. Our office provides superbills for potential insurance reimbursement.
I approach therapy through a cognitive, culturally sensitive, and mindfulness based lens. I utilize EMDR to help process trauma and other negative emotions stored in the body. I have completed EMDR basic training under Deany Laliotis, LICSW and am working toward my full EMDR certification under the consultation of Dr. Pegah Moghaddam, PsyD. I work with clients experiencing a myriad of clinical concerns including depression, anxiety, life transitions, and grief. Additionally, I have a passion for working with individuals overcoming complex trauma, including sexual abuse. Some of my other clinical experiences include working with substance use, HIV/AIDS, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation. Many of my clients are seeking out culturally sensitive care, where their identities are given the space to be seen and heard. During our time together we will work on building awareness of thought patterns, beliefs, and narratives that no longer serve you. I believe we all have the power to re-write unhelpful narratives, challenge negative thoughts, and transform our lives.
For over a decade, my practice has welcomed those seeking change, peace, and insight. I carefully tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual client. I assess each client’s specific goals, strengths, and challenges, and, together, we develop an appropriate treatment plan. I am always dedicated to creating an environment where clients feel safe to be challenged and to grow.
I'm Emily, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Atlanta area. I view therapy as a combination of deep introspection along with more immediate, concrete change. In our work together, we will explore underlying themes, patterns, and narratives, and we will also focus on more immediate skill-building and behavioral change. I lean heavily on General Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems and other modalities to support you in deeper exploration. Whereas I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Solution-Focused Therapy to assist you in creating more concrete, immediate changes. I work best with clients who are engaged and motivated to learn about themselves; therapy should feel like a conversation. It is my ultimate belief that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and many of my clients would describe my style as down-to-earth, direct, and non-judgmental.
Compassionate, experienced Atlanta therapists to help you end struggles with anxiety, depression, relationships or identity and achieve a better life. Our therapists are all queer-affirming and offer a safe space for clients.
Everyone can benefit from therapy regardless of how big or small a problem feels: both sprained and broken ankles can benefit from crutches! Whether you have faced a life-altering event, or have worries about the future, I will guide and support you along the journey. Taking the first steps to begin therapy can be intimidating, but is an important move to make to become your best self. My approach balances the emotional processing necessary to generate insights with the practical components of skill building to truly give you all the benefits therapy can provide. I use a flexible integrative model to generate individualized treatment since no two people or problems are the same. I believe therapy is most effective when we collaborate to improve your quality of life. I'm excited to begin the process of achieving your personal goals! Currently supervised by Tara Towler-Cumby, MA, LPC, CPCS.
