Welcome! My name is JoseƩ Muldrew. I am a proud Spelman Alumna and a graduate of Boston University. I'm passionate about helping college student and communities of color uncover their truths by identifying and processing the various life experiences that may have skewed and muddied their world view. I believe that every person deserves to experience unconditional love and self-acceptance, and that starts from within. As a therapist, I view myself as an advocate and supporter who walks alongside you on your journey. I hold up a figurative mirror that allows you to see everything that you are, while equipping you with the necessary tools to navigate life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, racial identity issues, and attachment issues, among other concerns. Individual therapy is a powerful, yet challenging process that requires trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship. I work to build a healthy rapport with my clients that empowers them to share their story and experience the healing they desire in a nonjudgmental environment. Through our work, you will move out of past limiting beliefs that have kept you stuck into new and adaptive ways of behaving and thinking that promote growth.
Are you feeling overwhelmed and emotional on the inside? You work hard to create the life you want, but you feel like it might fall apart at any moment. Do others view you as the strong friend or family member who saves the day, but there is rarely anyone who consistently shows up for you? You wonder if youāre a people pleaser, too hard on yourself, and why others donāt respect your boundaries. Is there past trauma that could be affecting your current relationships that you need to process? Unmanaged anxiety, depression, or unhealed trauma can leave you feeling dissatisfied with life. As a Caribbean American, I help men and women heal from trauma and toxic relationships by providing a safe, judgment free zone where you can learn new coping strategies to live your best life. I utilize cognitive-behavioral interventions and a psychodynamic and systems-based perspective that focuses on providing you with the tools to do the work to heal yourself. Are you ready to do the work? I am currently accepting new clients for 2024. Let us collaborate to improve your emotional intelligence, build your confidence, and maintain healthy relationships with others so you can experience as much joy and peace as possible

The freedom of life after high school was supposed to feel different than this. The college and young adult years are full of possibility with new experiences, new independence, and the freedom to begin shaping life on your own terms. Itās exciting to explore who you are and what you want, with so many paths open ahead. But that same freedom has left you frozen in fear. With so many new experiences, choices, and no clear ārightā answers, itās easy to slip into second-guessing, pressure, or self-doubt. Youāve gone from knowing exactly what you were doing and excelling to feeling lost and suddenly feeling that perfect 4.0 slipping away. What should feel like possibility can quickly start to feel like a burden and you just want someone to tell you what to do with your life. I help high-achieving students like you gain clarity and perspective as they tackle these exciting, yet sometimes anxiety provoking, milestones because feeling at home in your studies, career, and connections is essential to living a fulfilled life.

I worked eight years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in several settings before expanding my specialty to Psychiatry/Mental Health; it was the best career decision I could have made. I started practicing Psychiatry in a correctional setting, treating adolescents and adults. It was there that I recognized the significance of early mental health promotion, screening, and treatment. For the past four years, Iāve worked in a private practice with a diverse patient population across the lifespan. My main role is assessing, diagnosing, education, and medication management, and I occasionally incorporate therapy. I have found that motivational interviewing helps elicit the patientās goals and determine readiness for change. The individual patient and his/her goals dictate my chosen therapy modality. Brief supportive therapy, Grief therapy, and CBT interventions are the modalities I most often incorporate. All psychiatry providers at Foresight have specialized experience in treating a wide range of common mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, and PTSD. In addition, I specialize in the following areas: academic stress, BIPOC mental health issues, CBT-I, comorbidities/medical complexity, deprescribing, holistic approaches to psychiatry, LGBTQIQ2s+ mental health, personality disorders, somatic symptoms disorders, trauma-informed care, anger management, antisocial personality disorder, autism spectrum disorder, chronic illness, chronic pain, developmental disorders, dissociative disorders, first responders, grief, menās issues, pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum, racial identity, self harming (non-suicidal self injurious behavior), transgender care, veterans care, womenās issues (PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, etc.)
