As a psychotherapist, I create a safe space whereby building a relationship, unraveling issues, demystifying oneself, voicing hopes and dreams, and developing wisdom and insight, one can emerge from (and exist in) the forest that is life with a deeper understanding of how to navigate one's mind and the world around us. It is my philosophy that great psychotherapy not only addresses the issues on the table, but also guides one towards greater overall life fulfillment. I have extensive experience is CBT, ACT, psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches working with a variety of populations, mental barriers and social challenges. By developing together the skills of psychological flexibility, I aim to equip you with the skills to successfully endure future hardships on your own in an imperfect world where negative experiences and events are outside of our control. In turn, allowing you to live a life that is gratifying, authentic, rich, purposeful and well-adapted. Aside from my academic training, my psychotherapy approach is also informed by my own queer identity, my multicultural immigrant background, existential worldview, social justice, and the realities of people of working class and low socio-economic experiences. College can look exciting and successful from the outside while feeling overwhelming behind the scenes. You may be struggling with anxiety, academic pressure, perfectionism, relationship concerns, family expectations, or uncertainty about who you are and what comes next. Maybe others see you as responsible, driven, or strong, but you feel exhausted from trying to keep everything together. I work with college students who are used to putting pressure on themselves, taking care of others, or feeling as though they must always perform well. Therapy can be a space where you do not have to have all the answers. Together, we can explore the experiences and patterns contributing to your stress, strengthen your confidence, and help you develop healthier boundaries, relationships, and coping skills. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. Whether you are adjusting to college, navigating friendships or dating, questioning your identity, managing family stress, or preparing for life after graduation, I will support you in gaining clarity and feeling more grounded. Are you ready for a change? Art therapy may be right for you. It is not always easy to express our feelings with words alone. There are many challenges life throws at us, but sometimes we can work through them best by doing what comes naturally - creating. In my experience everyone is a born creator. I can help you use art and artistic expression to confront your deepest fears and begin the process of healing. You may be stronger than you think. In the long run, my goal is to help you overcome your barriers and attain a fuller sense of ownership over your life. My specialty is in art therapy, but in many cases I find that art is just a tool to start a difficult conversation, to access parts of yourself that may be blocked off because it is painful to think about. It doesn't have to stay that way. I have seen amazing things happen in therapy. It is why I do what I do. If you are ready to make a change for the better please contact me today.

Wanting to make some changes? If you are seeking to address issues and stressors in your life, support and challenge in therapy may help. I have over twenty years of experience working with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns; much of my work has been with in university settings with college aged adults. I use a variety of techniques to help identify and change behaviors and thoughts that negatively impact your life. I generally see clients by appointment Monday through Thursday. During your first visit, I ask a variety of questions to get a broad view of your concerns, including your presenting issues, history, physical health, daily activities, social life, substance use, and other concerns. From that information we can determine goals for therapy and if we are a good fit. I will make suggestions if I think you need in-person or other services. I work with a wide range of psychological issues, and have significant experience working with women's issues and eating disorders . I have been trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy which has been found to be effective with eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. I also draw from other theoretical approaches to provide an individualized approach for each client based on their presenting issues, symptoms, values, goals, and history. I have experience working with diverse clients, from older adolescents through aged sixty-five, from a variety of ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic and sexual identity backgrounds.

I'm so glad you're here! I welcome clients who may be perceived by others as "having it all together", but internally feel overwhelmed, out of control and are afraid of being "found out". My clients are high achieving and historically marginalized folks who want to work through anxiety, depression, stress management, boundary setting, life transitions, and identity exploration. I frame the healing journey in terms of present, past, and future-what's not working right now, how did you get here, and where do you want to be instead. Together we'll create a space where you are free to dream and make room for your authentic self to shine through. I became a psychologist to become an active part in creating a world that my inner child would feel seen in, and to extend that power and flexibility to others who may have learned that safety and support is not always given- sometimes it must be created. If you are curious about starting your Unapologetic Journey, email me to schedule a consultation today!
