Therapists for college students near University of Minnesota
You're facing something big. A life change, illness, sadness, grief, or maybe just the quiet sense that something needs to shift. You don't have to face it alone. For the past 20 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of people facing cancer, one of life’s toughest curveballs. I offer compassionate therapy rooted in real human connection, emotional resilience, and the belief that healing is possible—even in the shadow of loss, uncertainty and change. Whether you're navigating a major life change, illness, grief, or simply trying to hold yourself together during a hard season—I’m here to help you find steadiness, meaning, and your next step forward.
My therapeutic style is authentic, nonjudgmental, and laid back. I believe all humans should be treated with respect and kindness, and all people are seeking understanding and acceptance. I attempt to personalize my therapeutic approach to match the unique needs of you (and your family). I am trained and certified in EMDR and my passion lies in using EMDR Therapy to help individuals heal from trauma. I also enjoy working with premarital couples, using their strengths to work on growth areas. I find young adults a joy to work with, and love helping individuals in this life stage navigate their true sense of self.
Hi, I’m Taiah. I provide virtual therapy for teens and adults, including individuals, couples, and families. I’m especially focused on neuro-affirming care and creating a space where neurodivergent students and others feel understood, respected, and not pressured to mask or fit a narrow idea of how they “should” communicate or function. I work with people navigating school stress, burnout, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and patterns that feel hard to shift. My approach is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change. I draw from CBT, DBT, strengths-based, and systemic approaches, and tailor support to each person’s needs, communication style, and goals. My goal is to make therapy practical, accessible, and grounded in real life. My background includes outpatient therapy, eating disorder care, and supporting families and couples impacted by substance use. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent students, parents, couples, and families who want to build environments and relationships that feel more authentic and sustainable.
I help people who are often anxious and overwhelmed. If you are feeling stress out and would like coping skills for managing current distress, I can support you in developing new strategies. I am available for in-office or teleheath sessions. Visit our website to learn more or to schedule an appointment.
Micah Duke is dual board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He has nearly two decades of experience helping adults and children in crisis and emergency situations. Micah self-identifies as a "professional student" and understands the many stresses associated with leaving home and attending college. He believes in a holistic, person-centered approach to mental health that focuses on both the physical and mental stresses of life. He also believes that everybody needs someone to talk to sometime so nobody should ever feel stigmatized for seeking mental health help.
Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!
Our priority is helping you find the solution that works best for you, by listening carefully and asking the right questions before working with you to create a tailored plan to address your needs. We genuinely care about people and use the modalities and techniques that work best for the individual. We work with a wide variety of people with an even wider variety of needs. We both do a lot of work with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQIA challenges, and aging or life transition issues. Carol E. O. Doreen Vosburg completed a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from The University of Missouri, Columbia in 1998. She has over 20+ years of counseling experience and is a member of the SC Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association and EMDRIA. She is IFS-informed and utilizes a combination of techniques, including brainspotting, EMDR, CBT, and other trauma-informed strategies. She is AANE trained to provide support to non-autistic partners in neurodiverse relationships and has a special interest in the healing and recovery of Adult Children of Alcoholics.

Are you a college or graduate student who feels like you’re constantly trying to keep up? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by school, work, relationships, and everything else you’re expected to figure out. Even when you’re doing well, you still feel like you’re not doing enough. You may be dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, low self-esteem, or the pressure to have your future figured out. I specialize in working with college students, graduate students, and young adults navigating these challenges. I understand that being a student isn’t just about academics. You’re also figuring out who you are, what you want, how to manage relationships, and how to build a life that feels meaningful all while dealing with the pressure to succeed. My goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more confident in your ability to handle whatever comes next. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and develop practical skills to manage anxiety, cope with stress, and improve self-confidence. We’ll use evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT, while tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals. I take a warm, collaborative approach to therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start, and you don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough” to reach out. Whether you’re struggling to keep up with school, feeling burned out, questioning yourself, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and figure out what you want your next chapter to look like. If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment while also giving you practical tools you can actually use, I’d love to connect. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

As a queer therapist, I believe there is no one “right way” to live our lives. This is the same for therapy, there is no “right way.” I believe we all have the power to harness our strengths and find the path that gives us the most meaning and purpose. Clients are the experts in their own lives – each person has the tools and skills to solve their problems, though sometimes may need some outside help to find those tools and learn those skills. Together we can create a therapeutic alliance that is conducive towards self-discovery, growth, and fulfilling your potential while honoring your history, resiliency, values, and beliefs. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. I am working towards being a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, gender diverse, the consensual non-monogamy (CNM) community, and I am kink/BDSM-affirming.
We specialize in providing trauma, sex, body and LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy to those who feel lost and unsatisfied, and want a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. We're here to help you slow down, sort through the pressure, and figure out how the hell to take care of yourself and go after the life you want while remaining true to who you are. It doesn’t have to be so hard. We are not distant, blank faced analysts, but instead are responsive and collaborative in our approach. Together, we will untangle the knots created by anxiety, depression, trauma, family, eating, and relationship problems that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, and your emotions.
Your story matters, and my role is to listen, support, and guide you with care that addresses your mind, body, and spirit. I provide a safe, welcoming space where you can share openly and begin to heal. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or difficult life transitions, I work with you to create a plan that fits your needs. My goal is to empower you with the tools and confidence to move forward, build resilience, and restore balance in your life. Together, we’ll focus on lasting wellness and meaningful growth. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with years of experience in both critical care and behavioral health. My path began in nursing after an earlier career in engineering, giving me a unique blend of analytical skill and compassionate care. This diverse background allows me to approach mental health with precision, insight, and a holistic perspective. If you’re seeking a collaborative and compassionate partner in your mental health journey, I invite you to book an appointment today. Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
I specializing in supporting individuals through major life transitions, including the transition to college. College can be an exciting, new thing, but it can also be full of anxiety and worry as well. I love to meet clients where they are at while slowly pushing them to where they want to be. I have a wide background in trauma and anxiety and offer evidence based practices such as EMDR.
