I believe in community care, liberation, growth, joy, resilience, healing, and justice. The trauma we experience can make us feel so disconnected and dissociated while also craving connection and warmth. I am here to invite and support you in exploring connections to yourself, your communities, and the world around you. Through understanding our intersectional identities, we can start to process and unpack the ways we struggle to show up for ourselves and each other. Healing is a process that takes time, authenticity, and gentle care. My experiences and work are shaped by my identities, how I create and sustain joy, and community. I find it incredibly fulfilling to continuously build relationships through empathy, curiosity, and compassion. My areas of focus include trauma, relationships, life transitions, grief, polyamory/non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, and other alternative lifestyles. I am a queer, trans/nonbinary, neurodivergent, 2nd generation Chinese American. My approach is rooted in liberation and relational work through anti-oppressive and social justice lenses. I draw from modalities such as psychodynamics, somatic work, narrative therapy, and mindfulness. Please reach out for a free consultation to see if we would be a good fit.
I chose social work because I believe in helping the whole person. I recognize that we are all shaped by the environments and systems we live in, and I use this broader perspective in our work together. I specialize in adolescent, and emerging adult mental health, I have 6 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families across various settings, including schools and home-based services. Adolescence and emerging adulthood are periods of intense change, and my priority is offering a safe, non-judgmental space where young people can feel heard and truly understood. My therapeutic style is grounded in strength-based approaches and trauma-informed care. We might explore things using psychodynamic ideas to understand patterns, read and discuss books, music, and poetry through Bibliotherapy, or just have an open, honest talk therapy session. My approach is always about meeting people exactly where they are.
Therapy is a powerful tool in the process of inviting our most authentic selves to emerge. My approach is grounded in an integrative blend of Eastern and Western modalities and philosophies with the goal of fostering a greater connection between the mind, body, and spirit. In sessions, we will bring awareness to the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to better understand the blockages that are preventing you from living a fully expressed life. I provide a compassionate and safe container to work towards healing past wounds while addressing present problems. I received my Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and have been trained in Holistic Psychotherapy by Rebecca Greene, LMHC, CYT. My treatment modalities include Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Relationship Counseling, and Interpersonal Psychology. I have experience working with a wide range of clients across various stages of life who are working through issues related to relationships, codependency, grief, past and present trauma, anxiety, stress, and the feeling of overwhelm, spirituality, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. I am affirming of diverse orientations, identities, relationships, and family systems including, but not limited to Polyamory and Consensual Non Monogamy, LGBTQAI2+, Genderqueer, Kink/BDSM, Monogamous, Straight, and committed Allies and family members. I welcome your email or call to set up a no-fee consultation session so we can explore the possibility of working together!

Many of the students I work with are used to pushing through, even when they're overwhelmed. They may be questioning their career path, struggling with perfectionism, procrastination, people pleasing, or feeling like they're falling behind while everyone else seems to have life figured out. Others are navigating ADHD, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or family stress. As a college professor and psychologist, I understand the unique pressures students face and help them better understand the patterns that keep them stuck, build confidence in their decisions, and develop a stronger sense of who they are both in and outside of the classroom.
Perhaps you're struggling with a significant life difficulty, or perhaps things are going ok, but you feel that something is missing. As you have come to a point that you have considered to make a change, whether it be a change in yourself, your relationship with others, or another area of your life, it is important to enter into a therapeutic relationship characterized by safety, trust, and professionalism. It's a privilege to be entrusted with your emotional well-being.
Every person is unique, each with their own narratives and perspectives. I subscribe to the belief that a new therapy is constructed for each person I work with. From the outset of treatment on through a process of self-discovery— challenging circumstances, past traumas, and negative belief structures lay the groundwork for seeds of strength and growth. All individuals possess the capacity to change their lives and I will work with you to process adversity and conflict into resilience and peace. I like to tailor my method to the person sitting across from me, though I do specialize in an approach which encompasses psychodynamic perspectives and behavioral techniques. These tend to help clients explore unconscious patterns and enactments while offering practical tools for immediate relief from issues such as anger, grief, depression, and anxiety. In treatment, I am a human first and a therapist second. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for you to explore the vulnerabilities which lie beneath anxious manifestations. I am warm, curious, direct, and I bring a sense of humor to discussions focused around how you see your multifaceted self in the myriad roles you inhabit.
Chronic illness impacts more than physical health; it can shape your identity, relationships, academics, and emotional wellbeing. I support college students and young adults affected by medical issues who are facing uncertainty, grief, life transitions, and stress. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis, ongoing symptoms, caregiving responsibilities or relationship challenges, I provide a space to grapple with the emotional realities of physical illness. I have particular experience providing therapy to adults with Multiple Sclerosis and other autoimmune conditions. Other specialties include trauma, loss, depression, and relationship issues.
I have done psychotherapy with graduate students, especially around relationship, bereavement (particularly early parental loss), anxiety and fertility issues for over twenty years. I believe that most emotional pain stems from both difficult life circumstances and how we perceive those events. I work in an open, warm and empathically challenging way to help people better explore, understand and wrestle with the issues that are keeping them from finding more peace, joy, freedom and fulfillment.
Hello, I'm Glendenise, a Christian therapist. I am available to work with anyone who is ready to heal and be heard. My approach is to collaborate with you, to listen, and create a space that cultivates growth. The objective is for you to expose unhealthy mindsets and past experiences, so you can overcome and move forward. When you expose those thoughts and feelings, it leaves room to uproot the problem and address your challenges head on. Expect to process the current conflicts, to uncover negative patterns and discover your life goals. You taking this step is your opportunity to embrace your breakthrough and overcome the hurt that is in your heart. Feel free to reach out and schedule an appointment by emailing or calling. It's time for you to have peace.
Do you have a sense that people don’t get you? Do you travel a different path than everybody else? Are you living your life very differently from what other people expect you to? Do people tell you that sometimes you are thinking way outside the box? Are your parents different from you and do they want you to be someone else? Life can be tough when you feel different. Different can also mean isolated, lonely, and misunderstood. It can also mean constantly asking yourself: Will I ever fit in? Can anybody understand me? Why can’t people accept me for who I am? Am I doing the right thing? Will I be happy? That’s what I can help you with. BE DIFFERENT AND STILL FIT IN. The therapist-client relationship is a collaborative one, where you are an expert on yourself and we work together towards your goals. I believe that you should be satisfied with the services you are receiving and thus I frequently assess the clients' progress and satisfaction with my services during the duration of therapy. I strive to tailor therapy to best fit your needs. My approach to working with clients is practical and straightforward, yet warm, genuine, and supportive.
Do you often feel like your emotions are out-of-control? Do you experience mood swings, anger, depression or anxiety? Have your relationships felt unsatisfying? And perhaps this whole "figuring out life as an adult" thing has been stressful for you - as it is for many young adults. If you feel hopeless or discouraged, please know that you don’t have to feel like that! We can work together to understand your thoughts, feelings and your past. Then, our focus will be on changing patterns that keep you feeling stuck and developing new ways to cope so that you experience more of what you desire in life. Healing is possible and life can feel more satisfying! Treatment is trauma-informed, designed to fit your goals, and focused on your healing, growth and wellness. We work with the mind and body to heal from past traumas using EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and other therapies. Troubling thoughts and the emotions and behaviors that follow can be modified with CBT and Mindfulness. The aim is for you to feel more stable and confident. Warm, kind, and non-judgmental, I am passionate about helping you better manage your emotions and the direction of your life. My goal is to help you become the best possible version of yourself and live the life you’ve always dreamed of. Experiencing joy and inner peace is possible! I believe that therapy is a space to tell your unique story, where your lived experience will be received, honored, and validated without judgment. By diving into that story together, I can help guide you in understanding yourself and charting a course for future growth. As we walk this path together, we will work toward self-acceptance, empowerment, and joy. I support clients through a variety of challenges, such as exploring identity, navigating transitions, strengthening relationships, processing trauma, and coping with stress. As a queer, gender non-binary therapist, I am particularly passionate about providing sexuality- and gender-affirming therapy to queer and trans clients of all ages. I prioritize queer joy and gender euphoria in the therapeutic space, and strive to create a safe haven for clients to explore their identities beyond heteronormative sexuality and binary gender. My therapeutic approach is tailored to the individual client, and incorporates a variety of techniques and approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and anti-oppressive practice. My therapeutic style is goal-oriented and client-centered, and I prioritize collaboratively constructing a set of goals to bring intentionality to my work with clients. I strive to bring warmth, empathy, and patience to my work, and I encourage clients to identify and leverage their unique strengths and capabilities. My practice is informed by queer theory and critical race theory, and I strive to help clients explore how their lives have been influenced by social structures of oppression and inequality. In my free time, I love spending quality time with family and friends and finding new favorite spots to eat in my neighborhood. On the weekends, you can find me exploring Astoria Park and fawning over every dog I meet.
