I tend to work best with college students and young adults who look “high-functioning” on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside. Many of the students I see are smart, reflective, and trying hard — yet struggling with anxiety, mood swings, burnout, panic, or a constant feeling of pressure to perform or hold everything together. You might feel stuck between who you were expected to be and who you’re becoming. You may overthink conversations, feel emotionally exhausted, struggle with motivation, or feel disconnected from yourself or others. Some students I work with have experienced past stress or trauma that still shows up in their body — through anxiety, sleep issues, emotional shutdown, or feeling on edge — even if “nothing bad” seems to be happening now. In therapy, we move at your pace. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear goal right away. My approach is supportive, curious, and collaborative — focused on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop tools that actually feel usable in real life. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, feel less alone, and build steadiness during a demanding and uncertain chapter of life. I will be getting credentialed with additional insurances and accepting private pay-please feel free to check back or reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.

I am a therapist-in-training providing sliding scale therapy under the supervision of Jessenia until May 2026. I am a first-generation Latina- I speak Spanish and English fluently. I have experience in a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic with young adults, elders, and adolescents. I am a firm believer that our identities are essential in understanding our life experiences and should be considered in a therapeutic relationship. I also consider the importance of intergenerational trauma- understanding we are carriers of past generational trauma. Along with societal barriers that directly affect our life experiences. Who we are now is influenced by our identities, life experience, and generational trauma. My approach includes the importance of identities and focuses on creating a safe, non-judgmental space. I guide with curiosity and empathy to welcome your feelings, thoughts, and life experiences. In our therapeutic relationship, I focus on understanding the interconnectedness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also explore past life experiences and recognize its influence in personality, behavior, and/or interpersonal relationships. Together, we will explore, process, and heal to overcome internal barriers.

College can be a meaningful and exciting chapter, but it can also bring intense pressure, uncertainty, identity questions, family stress, relationship challenges, burnout, anxiety, and executive functioning struggles. My practice offers a warm, collaborative space where students can slow down, feel understood, and develop practical tools for navigating both emotional distress and daily life demands. At Karuna Psychotherapy & Consulting , therapy is trauma-responsive, compassion-focused, and neuroscience-informed, with an emphasis on mind–body integration, relational attunement, and authentic human connection. At Karuna, we support deep healing, wholeness, and personal growth through compassionate, relational, mind–body psychology. I work from a non-shaming, culturally aware , LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming perspective. Together, we may explore patterns of stress, self-criticism, avoidance, perfectionism, overwhelm, attachment wounds, or disconnection from the body. My approach integrates evidence-informed psychotherapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, nervous system regulation, parts work, and insight-oriented reflection. My goal is to help students feel safer within themselves, better able to understand their emotions, and more empowered to move toward relationships, values, and choices that support their well-being.

Have you arrived at a point in your life where carrying so much emotional and mental weight is becoming significant in your life? These challenges can present as feeling stuck and/or experiencing depression, anxiety & more. I work with individuals seeking alignment who are open to an integrative approach to therapy. Our partnership explores a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Your unique story is approached with the desired goals and changes that can bring balance into your life. I offer a culturally humble and holistic approach along with evidence-based modalities as well as holistic modalities (teachings from Yoga, Reiki, and plant medicine). Therapy can be a powerful way to help you delve into the deep, inner work that helps one develop awareness of intergenerational patterns and traumas that may keep you stuck in the past and struggling to thrive in the present. I specialize in supporting young adults and college students struggling with trauma, C-PTSD, interpersonal concerns, and anxiety. I find having a deep understanding of your own story helps you to feel more secure in your identity, equipped to face your challenges, and grounded in your life. Getting to know your story in all its messy, beautiful, and complicated parts is where our therapeutic relationship will begin. I utilize an integrative approach to counseling using Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS), Person-Centered, Realtional, Psychodynamic, & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Based on how our relationship develops, I will pull from these theories to best support our work together depending on your needs. Through these modalities, we can help you stand authentically in your story, in all of its parts, and feel empowered in continuing it. Sharing your life with a stranger can feel vulnerable, risky, and uncertain. My goal is to help you feel, heard, seen, and empowered in the counseling space so that I can meet you where you are and help you attain your goals.

Life often brings us to a crossroads - where old perspectives, ways of feeling and being meet a desire for something new. Self-criticism, pain from past hurt, and fear of the future can create distance from a sense of aliveness, and hold us back from meaningful change. Over time, this may show up as relationship conflict, lack of purpose, feeling confused or numb, anxious, or depressed. Often these patterns are rooted in early relationships or unresolved experiences that shape how we view the world, attach and relate. I see therapy as a process of helping clients reconnect with themselves; rebuilding clarity, self-trust, and agency. Therapy with me is collaborative, authentic, and most importantly - rooted in the safety and trust of relationship. It is important to me to balance authenticity, warmth and humor, with honesty and directness. I offer traditional talk therapy and somatic practices that help you understand, process, and relate to your emotions - and whole self - in new ways.

I am a New York State licensed therapist working with adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, and OCD. Many of the people I work with are high functioning and successful, but feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, avoidance, or low mood that are difficult to shift. In therapy, we focus on understanding these patterns and developing practical strategies to respond differently. This often includes learning skills to manage intrusive or anxious thoughts, improve mood, and increase tolerance for uncertainty and difficult emotions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in practical strategies, while also providing space to explore underlying factors that may cause distress. I use evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
