My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to take the next step toward healing. I take a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to your unique needs. Depending on your goals, we may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic work, Rogerian Therapy, motivational interviewing, or other evidence-based practices. I have a down-to-earth, gentle style and the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering tools, insight, and encouragement as you move toward growth and relief. I’m passionate about this work because I’ve seen the profound changes that happen when people are given the space and support to heal.
My specialties are self-worth, relationships/attachment and traumas. From our earliest experience, that may not even be remembered, we've learned how to be in relationship. Some things may have been very helpful and other things we learned work against us. Through a lens of relationship much can be understood about ourselves. I offer both weekday and weekend sessions as business hours don't always work. I even offer in-home counseling (additional fees apply) for those who prefer or need me to come to them.

You have the weight of the world on your shoulders, and have for a very long time. As a child, you had to grow up quickly and take on adult roles, because you had a parent who wasn’t always able to be fully present. Overwhelming emotional pain weighs on you. And you’ve found that the emotional pain shows up as physical pain too - a literal heartache, muscle aches, or back pain. You’ve also lost your appetite or find yourself eating more than usual. You went through something horrific. And you thought you had dealt with it, you thought you could handle it on your own, but it keeps popping its pesky little head up in your current life and relationships. Speaking of which, you have a history of unsuccessful relationships. You long for closeness and intimacy - being validated, loved, and understood - but you can’t seem to avoid toxic people and/or sabotaging the good relationships because when there’s love and harmony you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sometimes as a result of the way you’ve been treated, you question your own worth and value. You worry that your life will never be the same. The fear gnaws at you sometimes that maybe you will never get out from under this boulder of responsibility and heartache on your shoulders. You worry you will never be free. I'm a queer white therapist who has been working with teens and young adults for over 10 years. For over 13 years I've worked with individuals 18+ years old struggling with mood, self-esteem, anxiety or worry, relationships, identity, loss, trauma, and life transitions. Working in a college counseling center is part of my prior experience. If you are interested in “depth therapy,” or have tried therapy before and the benefits didn’t stick, my approach may appeal to you. My specialty is called psychodynamic psychotherapy. This means you will be invited to begin each session with whatever comes to mind, and together we explore your inner experiences (emotions, sensations, thoughts, beliefs, expectations, dreams) with a focus on seeking to understand you and what’s troubling you. I can help us “read between the lines” for themes or patterns that contribute to feeling stuck, which may have been previously out of awareness, and which can now inform daily life and relieve symptoms. I am also certified to use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a technique that can help heal trauma symptoms impacting current life. While our work centers on you as an individual, none of us exist outside of the broader socioeconomic and cultural systems we are in. Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
