Welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice at PhilaPsy, where I offer psychotherapy for adults of all ages and specialize in working with individuals in early to middle adulthood. I have a varied practice, with people coming to therapy for a wide range of reasons. My areas of particular focus include working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, transitions or changes in life, stress, self-esteem, identity, relationship issues, interpersonal conflict, trauma, and feeling lonely, angry, empty or stuck. Across contexts, I provide identity affirming, culturally responsive, relational care. Therapy invites people to explore, process, and make sense of their ideas, emotions, experiences, challenges, and areas of conflict. I approach this work with collaboration and curiosity, bringing focus to how our relationships, social systems, personal histories, and development inform the ways we experience ourselves, others, and the worlds we inhabit. I believe a central part of feeling helped is finding a therapist who brings hope, humor, safety, and a sense of belonging. With the right fit, therapy can provide building blocks for people to heal, find community, uncover a path for themselves, and discover ways of living in this world that feel meaningful. If you are interested in reaching out, I offer a free phone consultation to get a sense of what you are looking for, address questions, and discuss possible next steps. Together, we can determine if we might be a good fit. To learn more about my work, please visit: philapsy.com

"Why now?" is a question I often ask at the beginning of therapy. Some people come in the aftermath of a personal or relationship crisis, some seek relief for old pain, others simply feel certain that its time for a change. My work is well-suited for people experiencing anger, grief, compassion fatigue, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, patterns of conflict and concerns of purpose and identity. I'm not overwhelmed by strong feelings or complex struggles. Whatever reason you may have to begin therapy, we'll work together to find the heart of the matter and what might help. My process is insight-oriented and collaborative but I'll tell you what I think. Clients have appreciated my warmth, directness and cultural competency. Some have stayed with me for years or returned after long breaks. I've had success connecting with adolescents and people who feel ambivalent about therapy. I'm deeply curious about how each of my clients experiences the world and I'll be glad to meet you. Reach out, and we can see if we might work well together.

Therapy is more about building new associations, making new, healthier default pathways. It is almost as if therapy is taking your two-lane dirt road and building a four-lane freeway alongside it. The old road stays, but you don’t use it much anymore. Therapy is building a better alternative, a new default. And that takes repetition, and time, honestly, it works best if someone understands how the brain changes. This is why understanding how trauma impacts our health is essential for everyone.” ~ Dr. Bruce Perry I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in various mental health settings such as Outpatient facilities, Inpatient hospitals, Crisis Center, but mainly in public and private alternative school settings. I have served children, adolescents/teens as well as adults. My expertise is in treating clients with ADHD, ODD, depression, mood disorders, stress and anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, loss of motivation, self-esteem and confidence. I attended Cairn University, where I received my Master of Science in Christian Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Bible with a concentration in Social Work at Lancaster Bible College. I also hold a Trauma-Informed certification as well as NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics) certification where I specialize in helping clients utilize various tools to regulate certain regions of the brain. I utilize various therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Support Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Reality Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Social Skills Training. I believe in incorporating different therapies according to client’s treatment plan and goals. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Malvern, PA

I thoroughly enjoy working young adult clients. This stage of life is filled with change, exploration of self, and forging of independence -- this can also mean that it's not always easy to ask for help, and a degree of hesitancy exists to allow even the most loving family members and friends into their worlds. I regularly work with clients that are struggling with major life transitions, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders. My clients are often seeking safety, understanding, and freedom from their negative thoughts. The foundation of my approach is person-centered and humanistic. I believe in the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship and a non-judgmental space to process life experiences.
